Employees have also noted that there is a lack of communication across departments, and that there is a culture of high employee turnover rate due to low wages and lack of benefits. My first day at Legacy Ridge, I was excited to start working and learning the routine of the job. However, that didn’t last long as they had no one to train new employees. I was put with the med tech because the only other CNA on the AL side was new as well. The med tech was very knowledgeable but he had his job to do so there was little time for training. Other employees here were complaining about the work load and how they have a high turn over rate. I can honestly see why they have a hard time getting and keeping employees. You hire someone new and have no one to train them, it’s honestly a lot of work out on the employees for little pay, plus they don’t have set schedules it just all over the place, and if your the only CNA that’s 25 or 26 residents on you, with the med tech helping when they are available. I had let management know I had a latex allergy and they tried to give me latex gloves to assist residents. Afterwards, they sent me out of the community on the bus was a resident and one of the concierge ladies to a dentist appointment. I was fine with this but it was the first time the resident meet me. I did not get a break at all on my first day. I stayed after second shift came in my first day to train with one of the CNA’s. As we made rounds, it looked like no one had been changed all day.My second day, I was in MC unit and the workers were amazing, very informative and helpful. All the employees were amazing that I meet, the issues at this place revolve around management.I had an issue arise and I was very upfront with them about my situation. After speaking with management, they made me hopeful I could make the job work. They told me not to do anything until I heard back. I didn’t hear from them for a couple of days and then when they did communication it was a separation notice delivered via email. I asked when to return my shirts, and other items and they told me I had been charged for them. If you say your going to contact an employee who has a scheduling conflict, contact them. They told me not to do anything until I heard from them. I kept waiting to hear back. I was more than willing to return everything, one of my shirts still has tags on it. I was very disappointed by the way management treats their employees. A phone call to say hey we aren’t going to be able to work this out, would of been great. They just left me hanging and then blamed me when I got upset because they kept my check. I honestly wouldn’t work for a company who doesn’t pay people for the time they worked. It’s sad they can’t even return a phone call, when they said they will and then they just take your check and blame you.
I have been working at Legacy Ridge of Marietta for over 10 and l can say this is a place l can recomend to someone looking for a place for their loved one. Legacy Ridge of Marietta has loving and caring staff who are dependable and reliable who put the needs of residents first. Definately Legacy Ridge of Marietta is the place to be.
Legacy ridge at Marietta is a place to be if you want a stress free , calm and peaceful working environment, this is the right place . I have been working here for almost 4years.great team work, great management who listens and attends to the concerns of care staff and a lot more. Some of my coworkers have worked here longer than I have i see and I intend to beat the record. I love working here.
I am a current employee at Legeacy Ridge and I truly enjoy going in each day spending time with my residents the days can be very hard but seeing the smiles on my residents faces when they see me makes worth it. Working here you become there family you spend more time with them then anybody and you learn them. I just wish family members would realize that there loved ones have changed and we the caregivers have adjusted to their loved ones current needs and are doing our best to make sure they are happy and well taken care of.
My mom's dementia is progressing and it was hard to hand over caring for her at home. Legacy Ridge IS home and they are caring for my mom with dignity and respect. I am so thankful for this friendly and warm environment where I always feel welcome and above all my mom is loved and cared for. I'd give 10 stars if I could!
Adam and his team were wonderful to work with. Dad was here about 8 months the care he received was exceptional. There are some really wonderful residents as well. He had made some very caring friends. A few bumps in the road but all handled promptly covid played a major roll and they marched on through and did a great job. Hats off to everyone!
This is the most awful place you could ever take your loved ones! They did not take my mom's condition seriously insisting that she could walk after her stroke and she COULD NOT! They let her fall on at least 3 occasions because of that. The last time she fell flat on her face and ended up in the hospital which she never returned. I was already making arrangements to move her but we never got that chance. I would NEVER RECOMMEND Alto to anyone!! I wouldn't eve give them 1 star but had to to be able to post. Kimberley Hoey
Very happy so far. My mother moved into their Memory Care during a brief open period during Covid. I have not been able to visit in her room yet. In the place she was before, I had to take care of some of her personal care, management was not very responsive to emails or phone calls. My mom was also injured several times. Sometimes for falls, once from mistreatment. I have not had these problems at all at Legacy Ridge. My mother's falls are far less frequent. The front desk woman, Debbie, is just the best. The caregivers are so sweet and visit with me for a few minutes when I am there. The manager, Adam, is immediately responsive to an email. My mother is always clean when I go. Her care is much more difficult now, yet she looks better taken care of. My mother smiles at her caregivers more than at me, now! That's a good sign! If my mom runs out of anything, a caregiver always calls to let me know. This didn't happen at the other place. I took care of my mother in my home and was very present before Covid, so I fully understand what caring for a person with Alzheimer's is like. I have had a peace of mind with her at Legacy Ridge in Marietta, that I've never been able to have before.
Our mom has been in assisted living here for one and a half years. We've been pleased as has she. Our dad was also at Legacy Ridge in memory care, and we were pleased with his care as well. The staff is caring and attentive as is the director, Adam Taylor. We visited several alf's in east Cobb before making a decision, and Legacy Ridge was the best fit for our family.
We placed my Dad at Legacy formally Atlas in February of 2019. The facility, the associates, the management, just the complete team has been the best most caring, kind, supportive, loving people who I and my brothers are so grateful for. Covid-19 is and has been horrible for a lot of families ours included. Knowing that Dad is safe and well cared for is one thing we don't have to worry about. If I could give them 10 stars I would.
My mother has lived at Legacy Ridge of Marietta for almost 3 years. The company was a different name when she moved in, but the management has stayed the same. I can't say enough positive things about the leadership that Adam Taylor has provided from the first day my mother began her stay there. And, in the face of COVID-19, Adam has worked tirelessly to make sure the residents and staff were safe and well taken care of. The support staff has all been wonderful and my mother has been very happy there. Thanks to all the staff and management at Legacy Ridge!
The management, sales and care team are caring , professional , attentive, personable and super helpful in transitiioning our father into Legacy Ridge Marietta in a short amount of time. It was a stressful time for our family and COVID made it even harder. The team at Legacy Ridge partnered with us during this stressful time in helping get my dad settled into his new home. The facility has been refurbished and redecorated. It is quaint and tastefully done. We highly recommend Legacy Ridge Marietta!
So if I was posting this review 2 plus years ago, i would not be so kind. This property has changed hands and the new owners have made so many new changes and improvements in the last year or so. They have completely update the property from the inside out, new paint, new flooring, new fixtures, new art work and so on. What a delight it is to walking in to this facility now.Adam Taylor (The Executive Director) has had his hands full. Going through the sale process and then doing major renovations to the property after it changes hands. I know this is tough work and I must say he has done a great job over all. They have improved greatly when it comes to their staff and developed a much stronger team to take care of these senior's.I just want to say Thank You. My father has been there almost 3 years and this is not an easy process to watch a loved one or parent go through. Thank you for being there and looking after my father. It truly means a lot to me.
My mother has been at this facility in the memory care unit for over 2 years. Placing her was the hardest decision I have ever made and there isn’t a day that I wish I could keep her home with me. That said, if mom can’t be with me (and knowing that no one is going to love her or care for her the way I do) the team at Alto really works hard at making sure both of our needs are met. Not only do they call and let me know if there is a problem, they call and let me know if mom is having a cognizant moment or a good day. When problems arise management handles issues promptly, to the point of even coming in during off hours to correct them. I feel that the management team and caregivers are an extended unit of my family. Adam, the administrator, has been really helpful during this transition and always listens to my seemingly endless woes of guilt and financial stress (Alto isn’t inexpensive but I’ve looked at inexpensive and no thank you!) I am always greeted by name with smiles and always at some point every staff member has a story to share about mom, which lets me know they have spent time in some capacity with her. In 2 years I can honestly say the building smelled unpleasant only once. (And I am there at the very least 4 times weekly) Lost clothing? Occasionally. Room not as clean as I like? Sometimes. Food not correct? Never with mom, even though I am certain it happens. Realistically errors happen, it’s how they are handled that matters. Every issue we have had has had a positive outcome. I wish there were more activities for the residents in memory care. I wish care giver turn over was not as high. But overall, I know my mother is getting consistently good, quality care by people that care about her. I would, and have, highly recommended Alto to other friends facing placement for their loved one.
