Windsor House At Snyder Memorial Health Care Center Description
Walking through the front doors of Snyder Memorial Health Care Center, visitors soon discover the true definition of "home away from home." The beautiful country setting at the base of the Allegheny National Forest, in Marienville, Pennsylvania, contributes to the undeniable charm of Snyder Memorial Health Care Center.
Snyder Memorial Health Care Center is Celebrating over 30 Years of Caring Traditions. Built in 1987 by John and Dorothy Masternick, Snyder Memorial Health Care Center serves residents who may require specialized wound care, IV therapy, tube feeding, rehabilitation, or special attention for behavioral problems due to dementia and other related conditions. We are proud of the recognition we have received from the Area Agency on Aging, local doctors, hospitals, other nursing facilities and personal care homes for our ability to manage behavioral issues that other facilities find difficult to manage. Our staff is well trained in this area which has become one of our areas of expertise. A multi-disciplinary team meets regularly to discuss effective ways of managing the care and treatment of any resident that needs special psychological attention. Psychiatric and psychological evaluations and treatments are also readily available.
The secured dementia unit includes 48 of the 100 beds and is utilized for those residents with Alzheimer's or other dementia-related diseases. This unit is for the residents who require a higher level of supervision. There is a secured courtyard that provides outdoor activity and relaxation space to the residents of the secured dementia unit. In addition, any Snyder Memorial resident has the opportunity to be taken out of the facility for activities such as restaurant lunches, cook-outs, going to the movie theater, shopping, walks in the woods and outdoor grounds, fishing and various other outdoor interests.
Another feature of Snyder Memorial Health Care Center is the wheelchair-accessible van which provides transportation for residents to appointments and outings free of charge if the van is not scheduled for another appointment. The home also provides transportation, when the van is available, to families who have difficulty getting to Snyder Memorial to visit their family member.
