Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
We do currently have a waitlist for the apartment and twin single floor plans. The wait time for the apartments is 6 months-1 year. The wait for the twin singles varies greatly depending on which floor plans you are most interested in. Typical wait is 1-2 years.
Could you share pricing and any other general information?
See attached file.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
Our executive director and AL director are both Certified Executive for Assisted Living. In AL and MC, we have RNs and LPNs administrating medication and doing treatments. We also have PCA's which go through early trainings through the company. All staff have trainings on fire safety, disasters preparedness, resident rights and abuse, HIPPA and corporate compliance, dementia care.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
We have fire policy, tornado policy. We have concrete floors and fire walls/doors. Sprinkler systems. All exterior doors are locked 24/7, except the front entrance which is open from 9AM-5PM every day. Residents and designated family and friends will receive a key fob that will allow them access to the building through a locked door. There are security cameras throughout the building. We offer a medical pendant to all IL residents through the company VRI. This pendant has fall detection and has a live attendant that you can speak with when you press the button. AL nurses are able to respond to emergencies in the IL apartments. Grab bars and higher raised toilets are installed in all bathrooms.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
We have a chaplain on staff that is able to provide emotional support during the transition. There is a resident led welcome committee that with welcome and invite residents to activities/meals. There is a Willow Brook 101 class led 2x a year for new residents to discuss questions and concerns and meet other new residents.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
Yes, we have a shuttle service that is available to go anywhere in Delaware city. We also have companion service that will do transportation anywhere for an extra fee.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
Water's Edge Restaurant is the IL dining room. Restaurant style. It is open M-F for lunch (12:00-1:30) and dinner (5:30-7:00). There is a Saturday to-go boxed lunch and a Sunday buffet (12:00-1:30). Once a month on the last Saturday there is an omelet bar (8:30-10:30). To-go and delivery options are available. Apartment residents get $230 credit per resident and the twin single resident's get $115 credit per resident to spend in the restaurant. It is like a gift card system where every meal depending on what you order the pricing will be different and deducted from your balance. It is a use it or lose it plan. It does not carry over month to month. If you go over the allotment, then it will be added to your next monthly statement. IL residents can also dine in the AL dining room, Cafe 100, which is open 7AM-7PM, 7 days a week. Any purchases from the Cafe does not come off your monthly allotment. It is just an extra charge.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
Firstly, talk with the director of the department you have a concern with, then talk with me, then talk with the executive director, and finally the CEO. The ombudsmen are available for folks that feel like their concerns do not get addressed.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
Upon move in, the resident will determine who they would like us to communicate medical information with. For IL residents, we communicate with families at the discretion of the resident and their wishes. Communications typically happen by phone or email.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
There are respite stays in our assisted living and the price varies depending on the room size. The smallest room starts at $230 per day, which is an all-inclusive rate.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Yes, we allow pets. No extra costs or fees for pets. We are required to have the pet's vaccine records on file.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes, we have a flu and Covid vaccination clinic periodically.
Are residents able to age in place?
When you live in IL there are opportunities to hire additional services in your twin single or apartment to provide care. If you end up needing 24/7 care, then it is not appropriate for you to remain in the IL setting. At this campus, we also have assisted living and memory care. We run our assisted living at a pretty high acuity so that we can provide the care needed for folks to age in place and not have to transition to a nursing home. If there is a case that long-term nursing home care is needed, then we have transferred our residents to one of our sister communities nearby.
