Everyone there took great care of my mom. Especially wonderful was Karin who made my mom nutritious smoothies because she ate them at home. We supplied whatever food they didn't have and she would blend them up for her so she was getting what she was used to since she hated Ensure and Boost. They went above and beyond. The social worker and physical therapists were also outstanding and all the CNAs.
Terrible place to send your loved ones. Staff never comes to check on residents, unless the call bell is used. So if your loved one has dementia they are left in bed for hours. My friend developed a bed sore. His teeth never got brushed, the staff did not feed him, because he refused meals. Yet when encouraged and assisted to eat, he ate almost everything! Lazy staff and not aware of patients needs. My friend had a broken hip and wasn't given any pain medication, because he didn't ask. He has dementia!!! Horrible. I must say that the PT staff and cafeteria staff were outstanding. Do your research to find a more caring and compassionate facility.
WARNING !!!!! Very displeased with the care of my grandma got in this place. they displaced her knee fracture and force her to do physical therapy even though she was in so much pain she could even freaking breathe and the physical therapist was pushing down on her knee really hard as she was screaming in pain. then one of the nurses came in seen that she wasn't right and sent her to the ER (thankfully) but failed to call me and tell me any changes that was done with my grandma! when I was supposed to be contacted for any movement or changes or anything. then my grandma went to the ER and had second surgery on her knee and when the word "vineyard hills" came out she got so much anxiety and fear in her eye that I knew right there this place is a horrible place for anybody's family! I highly recommend looking into any other place for your family. I now have my grandma in danish care and she absolutely loves it and they're helping her so much better the physical therapist is so much nicer and the nurses are way more attentive. They've got her on a fast pace ready to come home very soon thank God for danish! Vineyard Hills is probably one of the worst businesses I have ever come across if I knew an attorney I would sue the dog piss out of this place! My grandma asked for pain pills and they acted like she was trying to get high they said is this normal does she normally ask for a lot of pain pills the most disrespectful nurses I've ever come across!
This place was a disaster! My mother broke her ankle and was sent to vineyard for rehab. The first 3 days she did not get a shower or sponge bath. Finally one of our own caregivers took her to the shower down the hall and figured out how to shower her. We told the staff our Mom was dairy free. So they served her a bowl of dry cereal when I discovered this I brought almond milk in. On Saturday one of our caregivers called and said Mom could not stay awake. Concerned I called that evening to see what they gave her. As I continued to ask I was told there was an as needed list. Separate from her meds list. They had given her an anti psychotic drug at 8 in the morning! I asked why? They said it is administered when a patient is combative! The caregiver said she was not at all. Could it be the weekend staff just knocks everyone out? There's so much that went on too much to mention. The final straw was that they stole 2 jars of CBD cream and 2 bottles of drops for pain. We kept them with us at all times. As we arranged to moved her home the caregiver left them with my Mother's personal items and suddenly the very expensive products disappeared. When questioned the management could not explain why all the flowers, vases and plants disappeared the first day when she arrived from the hospital nor the CBD when she left. Don't bring your loved one here.
My mother had been at this facility for about 2 months, and I cannot express enough appreciation for the entire staff. Adam, the administrator, is extremely caring, charismatic, and efficient. All the nurses and aides go above and beyond and the facility is spotless and well equipped. I am eternally grateful for their patience and their care. I highly recommend them.
My Grandma has recovered here after two broken hips. While I would like to give this facility good reviews, overall it was not a great experience. I'll give some pros and cons.Pros- the physical therapist there, Erin, is a saint. She gets 5 stars for her personality, professionalism and attention to each patient. She is the best thing at Vineyard Hills. It does seem like a pretty clean place as far as these facilities go. It does have a very clinical feel, like a hospital, but rooms and bathrooms are kept clean.Cons: Many staff do not speak English well. This makes it very hard to discuss care and progress of the patients which is frustrating when your Grandma is 93 and has a hard time hearing/ conversing. My grandma is totally "with it" at 93 and they put her in a shared room with a delusional, loud, and confused patient. Obviously this place provides care to everyone but this made the experience there very depressing and difficult for my grandma who was teetering on depression after her surgery. There were a couple of instances where we questioned the decision making ability of staff there. My mom was present when difficult situations were being handled and she did not agree 100% with how things were done and the cleanliness of the situation. They told my mom that my Grandma would be released at 9:30 and when she arrived, my Grandma had been packed up in a wheelchair and was waiting by her bed. She had not been told where she was going, just that she was checking out. This was sad for my Grandma that she was not given more information and was left confused. The staff are very busy there, sometimes almost too busy to help you. There is not extra attention given to patients because they are all so busy. It doesn't seem like staff encourage patients to get up and move around (which my Grandma won't unless asked). They provide adequate care but without the extras.
I would like to give more stars. The people are caring and friendly. My problem is getting my pain meds on time. on mire than one occasion I have called for help only to be told the nurse is on her way or just outside the door. Waiting for more than 2 hours for relief is unacceptable.
Vineyard Hills offers the most compassionate care. The staff is kind and caring. The facility is very clean and does not have that "nursing home " smell. The rehab patients are very busy with therapy, which most actually find fun and enjoyable. There are many activities to participate in during the day. I would recommend this facility to anyone
Do not use this place unless you want to subjected to the following after your loved one dies: My father was there earlier this year and he just died, and Teresa Carnell in Accounts Receivable called his roommate, found out he was dead, and got his roommate who is mentally challenged to give her my email address. I received a collection email from her via email today telling me all the details of what my father owed. I emailed this woman back telling he was dead and never contact me again, and she emailed me back and stated the following, "..it is unfortunate that your father did not feel a responsibility to pay for the good care he received." My father lived on social security, had no pension and no savings. This woman's comments are beyond disgusting, inhumane, and indicative and what's wrong with our country where Veterans and ordinary citizens die like this every day, and all people and companies care about is getting their money. It's even more disgusting when you realize they are a non-profit organization. SO WHY ARE THEY MAKING COLLECTION CALLS AND EMAILS?
