Overview of Staff Training
Prior to training on-site, employees attend Ebenezer New Employee Orientation. The duration of orientation depends on the position. The Executive Director (ED) ensures that new employees receive comprehensive training, including:
- Hand washing competency testing by a nurse or department manager.
- Completion of the Ebenezer OSHA and Infection Control module in Educare.
- Training in site-specific safety procedures and the Educare module: Emergency Preparedness – Site Issues.
- For Elderly Waiver communities, training in Elderly Waiver requirements and the Rights – HCBS Settings Rule – Residential Providers –v1.0 in Educare.
- Training in the use of site-specific equipment by the RN Director for Home Care employees.
- Completion of various Educare modules by Resident Assistants and nurses, including the Dementia Comprehensive Series and Client Mobility.
- Dimensions Leadership course attendance for nurses.
- Training and competency testing in designated nursing tasks by the RN Director.
NEW Training Outline
All new employees attend New Employee Orientation covering a wide range of topics, including:
- Aging Process, Basic Maintenance, Compliance/Code of Conduct, and more.
- Various Dementia Comprehensive Series modules.
- Additional training for Resident Assistants, RNs, LPNs, and Executive Directors in areas such as Client Mobility and Medication Administration.
Safety and Well-being of Residents
Measures in place include an Individual Abuse Prevention Plan, 24/7 staff on site, regular Quality Control and Safety Committee meetings, and compliance with State of Minnesota regulations. For more information, contact the Executive Director.
Support Services for Residents' Transition
Resources include leadership team introductions, apartment inspections, activity calendar overview, dining information, and a new resident welcome coffee.
Transportation Services
A bus and full-time driver are available for medical appointments, shopping, excursions, and events as per the activity calendar.
