DO NOT LEAVE YOU'RE LOVED ONE HERE! A FRIEND OF MINES DAD JUST LEFT THERE TO GO INTO A HOSPICE HOME DUE TO THE NEGLECT OF CARE FOR HIM. HIS DAUGHTER WORKS IN THE HEALTH FIELD AS DO I, SHE TOLD THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN ABOUT A PLACE ON HIS FOOT AND THRY CONTINUED TO IGNORE HER, IT WENT UNTREATED TO LONG, AND EACH TIME THE FAMILY CAME TO VISIT AND WANTED TO SEE IT THEY ALWAYS HAD IT COVERED. HE WENT INTO THE HOSPITAL WHERE HE WAS TRANSFERRED INTO HOSPICE CARE, FINALLY HE GOT THE CARE HE NEEDED, BUT IT WAS TO LATE HE PASSED AWAY ON 8/10/2021. ALSO WHILE AT TOWNSEND PARK, THE FAMILY COULD NEVER GET ANY ANSWERS, AND THEIR LOVED ONE WAS ALWAYS ZONED OUT FROM THE MEDS THEY GAVE HIM!! HE WENT FROM PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF KNOWING WHAT WAS GOING ON AND ABLE MOVE TO BED BOUND IN 4 MONTHS. THE FAMILY ALSO WAS ONLY ALLOWED SHORT VISIT TIMES EACH TIME AND THE STAFF ALWAYS HAD A NASTY HATEFUL ATTITUDE TOWARDS THEM AND THE RESIDENTS OF FACILITY.
I was a patient at Townsend Park for 18 days in the rehabilitation department. The first day was horrible and it only got worse. They Had two males who were changing women's disposable diapers (mine included) and I thought a female should take care of that for a female. My first meal was canned beef stew For dinner! There were two foul-mouthed young women outside my door for two hours that night, talking loudly and saying the "F" and "MF" and "GD" words! I could not sleep because of this. The next morning I reported it to the nursing supervisor, who turned around and told them what I said about them. They systematically talked to all their co-workers and mounted a plot to make my time there a living hell. From the occupational therapy supervisor (who refused to give me therapy and put me with another therapist) to the dietary department (which would serve everyone else and wait until I complained that I didn't get my meal and take 30 minutes or more to bring my tray, and over-salted my food) to the bathing department (who didn't even ask me if I wanted a shower, but wrote in their book that I refused a shower) to most of the nurses who would not give me my breathing treatments on time or my pain medicine on time. I had to ask for every dose of my meds and they took up to six hours to give it to me. The last day I was there, I got my tray, as usual, having to tell them that I didn't get a tray while my roommate was already finished with hers. The coffee was cold, the milk was not cold, etc. But, the worst thing of all happened when I drank the milk down. There was a jet-black blob of some kind of substance in the middle of the bottom of the cup! The only thing they serve in those small cups is milk, orange juice, and water! I showed the nurse and she did nothing about it. I showed the woman who takes the trays and she said, Ooh...I don't know what that is. Oh yes, when I finally got a shower, the woman who cleans the rooms stole two bottles of medicine, money, and a small bottle of perfume from my purse while I was gone from my room for about 45 minutes. Also, they use reusable water cups with lids there. They send them to be ran through the dish washer. Well, you know what would happen to me? I was extremely thirsty (because they didn't give me a fresh cup of ice water) and when I asked for one for the second or third time, they brought me a cup and I drank quite a bit of water from it, and when I put my glasses on and saw the lid that I was just sipping through, you guessed it, it was filthy and looked like it had the remnants of vomit on it! I caught some kind of virus and vomited for two days. I have never been the same since I left Townsend Park. I believe the black stuff they put in my milk glass was toxic. My health has steadily gone down hill since then. And I was only there for 18 days. I feel so sorry for the poor souls that have to live there. If you have a relative there, do everything in your power to get them out! I assure you that they are not being treated right and their life is in danger. And if you are thinking about putting a relative in Townsend Park, please do your research and find a better place. There is a reason they do not allow cameras there. They say it is for patient privacy but no, it's so you cannot catch them doing bad things. I saw a night shift nurse jerking an old frail woman around by the arm and fussing her out for getting "out yo bed" so please take your loved ones elsewhere. They do not deserve even one star but I had to give them a star to even post this.
Worst care of my elderly mother. It took them 30 mins or me to get to her when she needed to go to the restroom and 95% of the time,,they forgot she was on the potty. The food was something I wouldn't feed a pig and worse of all the place smelled FILTHY!!!!! If you have a loved one who needs therapy, I would avoid this place like the plague!!! Not worth one star, but I couldn't rate them any lower. Oh yes, the nurses were snotty and not worth a job!!!

Do not leave your loved one at this facility. We have an 89 year old grandparent and made the mistake of having this place care for him. We are a very involved family and like to visit every day. They only allow 30 minute visitation per day - which is NOT the CDC guidelines AND we were told now that we can not visit every day after we complained about a nurse that had been nasty to the visitors and the patients on several occasions---This was witnessed over and over and nothing done about it because they need warm bodies. If you love your family, DO NOT LEAVE THEM AT THIS PLACE.
