Touchmark in the Helena, MT area has an overall rating of 3.3 out of 5 stars based on 20 reviews. Employees generally say that the work is rewarding as they get to spend time caring for the elderly, but the culture at Touchmark is toxic. They care more about money than the residents and it shows in the culture. Employees are expected to work overtime and if they can't, they are treated poorly. The work/home life balance is poor and the atmosphere is constantly negative. The employees who work here truly care for the residents and want what is best for them, but staffing can be difficult. There is good cooperation between departments and an admirable company mission statement, but the troublesome employees are not held accountable. Not a pleasant experience.
My mother, Sally Campbell, lived at Touchmark for over 5 years. It is an excellent facility and the administration and staff always went above and beyond for her. Joe May, Nancy, and Karoline in admin were extremely helpful in all things financial guaranteeing my mom's quality of life was good. And Sarah and the care staff treated her with respect and kindness and helped my brother so much as my mom neared the end of her life. Thank you to all!
This is Maria Perry, and I used to work doing Housekeeping for them for three years during my time here! It was 2006- 2009! I loved working here, and enjoyed everything about this place! All the great coworkers, and all the wonderful residents! If you don’t know where to put your loved one at, this place is definitely something you want to look into! A great place for your loved ones! I know sometimes we want to stay home, and get the care we need, but sometimes we may need a little bit more! I recommend this wonderful, beautiful place! ❤️

I have been at touchmark for almost a year now, I I truly love and enjoy going to work every single day. Touchmark is like a big huge family, everyone always has a big smile on their face whether it's a staff member or a resident. It's just such a positive place to work.
Would not recommend working here at all. They promise you the world and the sign on bonus and screw you over on it. They ask and ask of you and don’t get anything in return. Staff overwork themselves and get burnt out and there isn’t any compassion or understanding. They barely train you before throwing you in . Which isn’t safe to residents or yourself. Extremely disappointed as a staff here. Now on to better things.

Touchmark is a fabulous community for our parents, and the management and staff do an excellent job making the community safe, comfortable, and full for its residents. We were very impressed by the effort, care and discipline that Touchmark...its management and staff...put in during incredibly difficult circumstances to keep its residents safe during COVID. It was almost a no-win situation, but Touchmark management did a great job balancing community safety and community life. Our parents enjoyed their time at Touchmark in Helena - they found it to be a warm, welcoming, and caring environment having moved there from Hamilton, MT. The management of the community is dedicated to making Touchmark a comfortable, warm and safe environment. Paul T (Denver)

My mother is a resident at Touchmark on Saddle Drive. I am most impressed by the facility and the staff. In all my visits, the facility seems to be in excellent condition and cleanliness seems to be a top priority. The staff I have come in contact with are most pleasant and do their best to respond to the residents' needs. I have been especially impressed and comforted by the level of diligence and communication during the COVID crisis.
I would highly recommend against this retirement home. They treat the residents and the employees awful. would NOT recommend to my worst enemy!
Although this facility looks nice, it's the service and care that are lacking. First, when you express an interest in Touchmark, you'll be bombarded with promotional materials, phone calls, and even unannounced home visits. They are hardcore, high pressure (but polite) salesmen when it comes to getting you in the door.What most people don't know is that you must be vetted if you want to move in. You have to provide them with all of your personal financial information including bank account numbers and balances to ensure you're wealthy enough to live there.They pitch that they're somewhere where you can "age in place," meaning that once they get you in the door, they've got you for the rest of your life (literally). You move into Independent Care, next stop Assisted Living, and potentially next step onto Memory Care. The move in cost is so high that very few people move out.Unfortunately, staffing is the worst issue for them, both in terms of assisted living and their dining area. They hire mostly high school kids to staff the dining room (they come and go by the month) and the turn over in assisted living and memory care is incredible. They appear to be consistently and constantly understaffed. Room checks are not done on schedule and people are left for hours without being attended. Check any of the job boards and you'll see that Touchmark constantly has listings. See their own website and Indeed for these listings. (They currently have 26 openings for unfilled positions primarily in resident care positions.) It's great if you're an RN looking for a job, but in the meantime the residents in the building are suffering without care from the empty positions.Also, the cost here is higher than any place you'd find in Helena. One person getting only two meals a day would average around $4000-4500. For assisted living, bump that up to $6000-6500 per month, and memory care comes in around $8000 per month. For that amount, you'd be better off hiring in-home care. It would be cheaper and you could live in your own home.There are a lot of other options in town - Edgewood, Hunter's Point, Renaissance, Bee Hive Homes, Son Heaven, etc.Rest assured, Touchmark is the corporate giant that would love to take your hard earned savings and unfortunately fail to follow through on their promises.
