Overview of Professional Staff and Training
We have several Nurses on staff as well as LPNs. We have OMTs and CNAs as well. Our Executive Director has her RN as well as our Director of Healthcare. Then under them, we have 2 LPNs that oversee the building as per the Director of Healthcare. We have OMTs who pass our medications and CNAs who work on the floor.
We are all trained in dementia, mandatory reporters, dependent adult abuse training, food service and sanitation, infection control, resident rights/restrictions and limitations, HIPPA training, Advanced Directives, Accident Prevention, Fire prevention and safety, disaster procedures, behavior intervention plans, incident reporting, and medication administration policies.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We are a dementia-specific building. All of our doors are locked and alarmed.
Resources for Transitioning Residents
When a new tenant moves in we ask for them to fill out some “getting to know you” paperwork for staff to get to know them. When they move in we will come and introduce ourselves and for about the first 2 weeks we will ask them about all activities and meals. We will help escort them as well so they get familiar with the community.
Transportation Services
We offer transportation to medical appointments within the surrounding area. We do medical drives on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Our driver has Tuesday and Thursdays for activity planned outings.
Dining Experience
We offer 3 meals a day. At every meal, we take the tenants' orders. We have several different options at each meal. We always have a weekly alternative, one for lunch and one for supper. We always have available, soup, grilled cheese, egg sandwich, burger, or peanut butter and jelly. We offer soup and salad cart at supper. We have dessert after lunch and supper. We offer several different drink options as well.
Addressing Resident Complaints
It depends on what the issue is. We try to address them right as we are aware of them. We have work orders the tenant can fill out if there is a maintenance issue in their room or if they need help with getting their items hung up. Usually, they just let staff know of the issue and we take care of it right away. We have an open door policy so most of our tenants will just stop us if there is some issue they are having. We have a monthly tenant and food council meeting. Where we encourage all of our tenants to come out. We have the department heads sit out and we go over each department and they tell us if there is something that is good or bad. We also have a calendar planning meeting where tenants meet with our activity director and go over items they would like to see on our activity calendar.
If there for a formal complaint we have a form for them to fill out and procedures and protocols we follow.
Cost of Living
Our rooms start out at $3600-$4000 depending on the size of room for assisted living. This includes meals, housekeeping, laundry services, activities, transportation to medical appointments, gas, water, heat, air, internet, cable. The only bill not included would be nursing care and phone. Tenants can absolutely add on a landline if they would choose so.
Nursing care ranges from $550-$1000 a month depending on what level.
Our memory support starts out at $5300-$6011 a month.
Communication with Resident's Families
It can be with email or a phone call depending on what works best for the family.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We have a respite available in our assisted living and memory support side. The amount depends on the amount of care and what area the person would be staying on. It ranges from 140-230.
Pet-Friendly Community
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community. It does require an extra deposit but there is no monthly fee. We do have our own facility pet as well. We have a dog named Eve that stays in our Assisted Living full time. We do not currently have a waitlist for either our assisted living, memory support, or independent living.
