We had to move our parents into Timber Pines after our dad's strokes, and it has been wonderful. The staff are amazing and the facilities are spectacular. The food can get a bit exotic for my parents, who are just good country people, but otherwise good. Their cafeterias look more like restaurants! Fitness rooms on every level, rides to church, shopping and doctors so they don't feel like they are trapped unless we get them. The director is very personable and never hesitates to talk with us about any concerns. Stellar!
My parents started at Timber Pines in an Assisted Living apartment, but after my mother died, dad had to be moved to the memory care unit, Pearl Gardens. While this place is top notch in terms of beauty and amenities, what makes Timber Pines most stellar is their staff: these folks are the most loving and caring people you'll ever meet. They loved and cared for my parents as though they were their own. I simply couldn't recommend them more. Thank you, Timber Pines... you all are amazing!
This is an amazing place staffed by amazing people. After six years of living in the Assisted Living area, I recently had to move my Mom to the Pearl Gardens Memory Care. As I am far away and COVID-19 prevented my being there, the staff stepped in and within three days from the decision to move her, she was in her new apartment and comfortable. They assisted me with the coordinating and kept me advised every step of the way. Mostly, they were so considerate of her. It was totally non-stressful and the transition was smooth. On the first day, she was settled and thriving in her new environment. Whether it is in the Assisted Living area or one of their special care units, your loved one is at the best place possible.
I only have a couple of concerns regarding how things are done there. One of my major issues, along with a large majority of residents and family members of residents, is the food. Our family members choose to sell their homes and move into a place where they won't have to do the major cleaning, deep cleaning any longer and also so they don't have to cook their own meals but still get 3 good tasty, nutritious, satisfying meals a day. The "cooks" your residence has had over the last 2/3 years have been either fired, dismissed, or quit. The food now is too spicy. The older residence can not eat that kind of food without getting heart burn, indigestion, etc. I know several residents who are only eating sandwiches because they can't handle eating anything else. When we look into your establishment, it was between your place and Coral Oaks. Coral Oaks has a famous chef and we were told your residents would receive the same type of food and treatment. They are not. If Corporate uses a Staffing agency then I can get you in touch with a staffing agency that has contracts with the Federal Government and therefore has Terms/Conditions/Rules and Regulations that they MUST adhere to and would be better than who the Goodman Group is using now.
I cannot express enough how amazing the staff and facility are at The Residence at Timber Pines. From the moment my dad entered the doors, with pretty much nothing but his hospital gown, he was treated in a way that speaks volumes about the special, nurturing and kind people you could only pray for, to take care of an ailing parent. Each and every person who touched my father physically and emotionally were top notch and excellent at what they do. They made a huge impact on my father’s care.
Five years in, and still the best decision we ever made (Mom’s words, not mine). When she moved there in 2014 it was hard to believe that the entire staff in such a lovely community could be so wonderful, caring, and respectful. However, this particular review is a tribute to the people in the Resident Care group. A few months ago my mom experienced a hospitalization that limited her ability to be an ‘Independent’ resident, and as soon as she came home from the hospital the Nurses and Assistants were ready, willing, and able to help with everything she needed, from bathing to complex medication management and much more. Once again, to my amazement, they are all so loving, caring, and competent I would swear I was watching each of them care for their own family member. Since I live out of state, nothing made me feel better than when she would say, unprompted, “It was a really good decision for me to live here, don’t you think?”. Mother knows best!
Not only as a seasoned healthcare professional living and working in this community for over 28 years....having been part of the celebration and creation of The Residence at Timber Pines when brick and mortar was laid.....that I recommend this beautiful community.....it's now that I know from a personal perspective - with my parents living at The Residence that they are living a better quality of life and are enriched everyday! I continue my healthcare career at a new turn last year - opening my own senior placement company - so now again - professionally I recommend The Residence as a superior senior living community for my clients.....because I truly witnessed their outstanding services with my very own loved ones!
Both of my parents have lived in the memory care portion of the Residence for about 8 months. My dad recently passed away, but mom still lives there. I can't say enough good things about the care they have received. The nurses, aides, and all of the staff are truly caring individuals. Yes, it is a beautiful facility, but the most beautiful part is the people who work there. Very highly recommended.
I wanted to pass along my heartfelt gratitude to the administrative and nursing staff for the way you treated my father, who moved into hospice at Timber Pines in August. I had to handle his care from out of town, and the people at The Residence at Timber Pines were amazing. From the very beginning, through his last day, I was very impressed (and relieved) with the responsiveness and CARE provided by everyone. Each and every person who touched my father physically and emotionally were top notch and excellent at what they do.

We have viewed the beautiful facilities and gotten to know the great staff. When the time comes for us to downsize, this is where we hope to be. There are so many activities. The thing I really appreciate is that you can move in at any age, but when the time comes for assisted care or full time nursing care, they come to you in your home so that you don’t have to move to another area of the facility. Many rooms overlook the pool. It is a beautiful facility, and one of the few in Hernando County that serves as a shelter in place for hurricanes. Check it out for you or your loved ones. You will be impressed.
I have toured this facility before and had the privilege of speaking to many of the residents during a candidates forum during my run for Hernando County Commissioner. I am here again tonight for a reception with the professionals who serve the residents. This has to be one of the best senior living environments possible anywhere at any price. People are happy and involved here. Jay Michael, you and your staff have a first class operation. I give the Residence of Timber Pines a 5 star recommendation!
