Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
The Laurels of Athens does currently have a waiting list for long term care.
Could you share pricing and any other general information?
Our current Private pay rate is $28/day, but we accept most insurances as well.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
We currently have a wide range of staffing from kitchen staff to administrator, each are equally important. The Laurels of Athens does staff much higher than most other facilities and therefore have more care time with each patient. In addition, we have specialized staff, such as a certified wound nurse and a wound physician that does visits once a week.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
One of the main safety things is the staffing we provide. We are also integrating technology into our care with circadia monitoring system. We have recently started using ACP technology for therapy of wounds, pain and more.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
We do have daily activities as well as daily room visits from activities department. In addition, we have counselors, religious services and Viaquest services.
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
The Laurels do offer transportation for appointments, however if it personal we assist with setting transport as needed.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
We have menus that our guest can choose from. If they do not choose anything the main dish will be served. The guest has the choice to eat in their room or in the dinning room.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
There are forms that can be filled out, at which point it is directed to the correct department to be resolved. Also, the grievance process is available there after if not resolved.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
One way is through the care conference process, with the first being within a couple days of admission and offered at least quarterly thereafter. Nurses and unit managers are readily available to speak about loved ones.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
The Laurels of Athens does offer short term stays, with most short-term stays being covered by insurance. We do offer respite stays on a case-to-case basis depending on our bed availability and that we can safely care provide the care the guest needs. The private pay cost is $280/day.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Pets cannot live and stay in the facility but can visit as long they are on a leash or crated to the room.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes, covid, flu and pneumonia vaccines are offered every year.
Are residents able to age in place?
Yes, our long-term guest plan to stay with through the duration of the life. We gladly accept them to their new home, if we can safely provide the care they need. Our guest become like family to the employees. The Laurels of Athens does currently have a waiting list for long term care.
