As an immunocompromised person, Lake Seminole Square provides me a bubble of safety. There are ways for me to stay safe in most situations, allowing me to have a social life while still protecting myself. The staff is very caring, the food is excellent, and the view of the lake from my window puts a smile on my face.
I recently moved to Lake Seminole Square after researching life care retirement communities for nearly 10 years. I worked with Debbie Empey from marketing for 4 years before she found the perfect condo for me. This is the best decision I've every made! Being in my early 70s and single, I didn't want the state of Florida making decisions for me.Additionally, I did not want to wait until I could barely walk before moving; didn't want to miss out on all the activities. Jamie Giammona, Move in Specialist, helped me select the decorating, even suggesting a contrast wall (I chose red). She also suggested a mover who was so good, the condo I moved out of wanted their name and number. While researching I asked a woman who had been here for several years if she had any negatives, "There's just not enough time to do all the things they offer here," she replied. Living at LSS is like living in a 5 star hotel, weekly housekeeping with linens, daily meals delivered to your door if you choose, happy hours, parties, and I could go on and on. But the most important aspect of this place is the congeniality of the staff and the residents. Who wouldn't want to leave the cleaning and cooking up to someone else and enjoy the camaraderie of neighbors? It's a proven fact that those living in congregate living communities live longer and happier.
Had a wonderful experience with Katherine looking for a new place for my parent’s to live. She is very kind and extremely knowledgeable about the residential living options. I felt like she went the extra mile to make sure my parents were cared for. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone looking for help in looking for care for family. Always a good to walk around and see happy smiling people.
Lake Seminole Square is a beautiful condominium community for senior citizens. The staff really care for the residents. Catering to the residents every needs, from in house dog walkers, to gourmet meals in several dinning rooms impeccably designed to be warm, comfortable and inviting. You can design the condo interior to your specifications, and they even have an assistant living as well as in house agency of CNAs offering a variety of services to care for your individual needs. Beautiful grounds, activities, so you're never bored. And my favorite in house swimming pool and fitness center.
This community is the most immaculate place to live. Like residents say, "It's like living on a cruise ship that doesn't leave port." Waterfront in a safe zone. Everyone is so kind and the services are outstanding. It's the place to be if you want to live in a vibrant, thriving community!
One of the most impressive community I have ever had the pleasure of visiting I most enjoyed the personal attention, knowledge, and quality time of Debbie Empey. If your looking for excellence in living , social activity/entertainment, and 5 star restaurant quality food Lake Seminole Square is the place. The living spaces are your choices. You are able to determine your needs, styles, and colors. Social Actives are superior to any other choices in the area. There are many classes, special events and tours available to any one who wishes to participate in them. If your hungry, the cafe/grill is open most of the day and the main dinning room is open for lunch and dinner
I have had the pleasure of working at Lake Seminole Square for almost 9 years. It is truly a wonderful place to work and live. The love in this building makes coming to work every day special. We are one big family and growing every day! The best retirement community in the world!
My name is Jamie, I am the Move in Coordinator at Beautiful Lake Seminole Square Independent Living Condo 55 + .I have been here over 22 years & have helped hundreds of new residents move in over the years. I love what I do and have great referrals to help YOU make the Easiest Move ever. Stop by or call me for more information. I can send you a short video also.
Wife and I have lived here almost exactly one year now...and it's hard to imaging anything better. One would never guess that the building is 30 years old. It is very clean and kept up to date. It was well designed. Poured concrete walls add structural strength and minimize noise transmission from neighboring units. Perhaps best of all, everything is under one roof...no need to go to another building for anything. The pool is indoors so you don't bake in the summer heat. The building is some 50 feet above sea level so the threat of flood damage is minimized. The staff is outstanding. They bend over backwards to please the residents. The food is excellent and there is a wide variety of menu choices. Satisfying the taste preferences of over 300 people is surely a major challenge, but they make every effort to accommodate individual requests. There are many activities in the building and ample excursions away, as well. Being here is like living at a luxury hotel...or, as many describe it, like living on a cruise ship that doesn't leave port.
Very happy living here. Wife and I just celebrated 11 years of independent living residency. Received more than we bargained for in menu, decor and building improvements. If your desires and abilities allow, daily activities keep you fit, sociable and mentally active. On site mini market, pool and therapy department are especially convenient.Very friendly staff, with relatively low turnover.Any service you may need can be provided, for a fee, for ageing in place, which most seniors hope to do. It is an "all in one building" Florida licensed Continuing Care Retirement Community.
As long as you reside in their showcase Independent Living section things are fine. But my 92-year-old father-in-law fell in his apartment and was not found for eleven hours. He had bled all over the room searching for the emergency cord. Because of this fall he was moved to Assisted Living section. All of your worst fears about Assisted Living will come true here. Most of the residents are afraid to say anything negative for fear of reprisal. When we visited our father-in-law at Lake Seminole a few weeks after rehab 9we live in another state)—we were shocked. He was in a nearly catatonic state. His room reeked of urine and was disgustingly dirty. He told us the place was unbelievably understaffed and he would regularly wait on the toilet after ringing for an aid for over an hour before they would finally come. The executive staff shocked us. When we would confront them--they would defensively say "we are on your side." But every request made was answered with a no or no action at all. When the director passed by our father-in-law after his fall (he had resided in Independent Living there for over 12 years) it was as if he did not exist.Make no mistake, the leaders of this establishment are NOT on your side. They are in the business of making money for their company. Period. It's all about the bottom line—not the people. We moved our father-in-law to our state (which Consumer Reports says is one of the most expensive states for Assisted Living—ironically they say Florida is one of the least expensive) and we are saving over $40,000 per year. Per year. The ALF where he is living is sparkling clean, the attention by the aids and staff is impeccable, and our father-in-law is once again being treated with love and respect--as a human being should be.So disappointed and disgusted with Lake Seminole Square. A business who does not care about your loved one. Beware.
