DO NOT send your family there. A lot of turn over with staff and disgruntled. In fact one director was arrested for theft awhile ago. Staff that left there informed me ALL the facility higher ups care about is money. This I know as they increase rent every year and do not care if tenant has money or not so they go after the family if the tenant cannot pay. They DO NOT care about the elderly!!!!! Make this your last resort if you have to place a loved one there.
Exceptional , friendly customer service and professionally run assisted living facility. My mom had some last minute changes in her life and needed a little help with her daily care after my dad became ill. Deanna Dedios and many of the friendly staff performed miracles to get my mom moved in with 3 days notice. Deanna purchased bed and bedding and other items so my mom could move right away. Deanna even went so far as to make my mom's bed, put the final touches on the room prior to move in like a welcome card, flowers, candy, etc. We can rest assured my mom is in good hands.PS. Update-Quote from my mom after her first night at her new home...says it all. "I love this place!!"
When an unexpected health issue arises, it catches everyone off guard. People scramble and perform quick researches for short term and long term care. We have never experienced having to place a loved one in a long term care facility and during our search, we found The Commons. We watched the detailed virtual tour and scheduled an appointment with a representative. Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness and warm welcoming staff. Our appointment was with Deana and when she met us in the lobby, she made us feel right at home. She escorted us to her office, where we sat and she provided a detailed description of their levels of care for different residents. Deana took the time to answer ever question and never once made us feel pressured or hurried. She offered us beverages and the ability to order a lunch off the resident menu, which has several options, along with snacks. She gave us a tour of the facility and showed different floor plans. Once making our final decision to place our loved one here, we were provided with a very informative and detailed binder with their policies and responsibilities. We scheduled a follow up appointment to finalize the lease and health care plan. We met with Deana and the health care team, who explained in detail their level of care assessment and expectations of care. During this hour long meeting, Deana ordered 4 different meals from their kitchen staff for us to sample and take home. These meals were very delicious, freshly made, and arrived within 10 minutes. Our compliments to the chef and kitchen crew. After finalizing the paperwork, we were afforded the opportunity to move in personal items and furniture prior to our loved one's move in so she could feel at home upon arrival. We are extremely happy and confident with our choice and we strongly recommend The Commons. We again thank Deana and all the crew at The Commons. They don't feel like staff, they feel like FAMILY.
Where to start? Moving your loves ones to a "new" home is never easy. This is our second time moving our parents, as mom is now in need of memory care. (Not provided, as promised, at last facility). We toured many places before the move the The Commons at Union Ranch. ("The Ranch", now fondly called by my family). From start to finish, this move has been a blessing. What attracted us first was that there was always a happy activity in process whenever we visited (unannounced visit). People living here seemed happy to be here. After deciding it was the right place, everyone on staff did all they could to make it as smooth a transition as possible. Josie was very caring, accommodating, and efficient with details. Gary ( GM) very concerned with our parents well being. Even visiting them prior to move in. Cameron and all his staff have listened to my concerns and quickly did all they could to accommodate our needs. "Listens" is a good description of the people at "The Ranch". Requests are followed through, phone calls and emails are returned. Trust me, this isn't the case at all assisting living facilities. If you are reading this, i can understand your desire to find the right place for your loved one. Wishing you my best in your hunt. Give The Commons at Union Ranch a look. I don't think you can find a more warm and caring place.
When Brewer Moving has moved on several clients into this establishment we are always greater by smiling staff members and helpful people. Josie was very knowledgeable and courteous. She made our clients feel taken care of and comforted. Knowing their parents were going to be staying here. Even with our staff they were very helpful in showing us right where to park, where to use the elevator or stairs and making sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely refe our clients to this establishment when they need to have their loved ones cared for. I'm not sure how anyone could not love this place. We will be back.
The BEST place ever, I can describe this as being on a cruise ship without the water. We had my mother come to live with us in May 2014, we needed to take a few weekend trips and I found The Commons at Union Ranch we have been blessed. We spoke with Matt & Josie several times and they assured us we are in great hands please come in and take a look. My Mother has the beginning stages of Altimeters we planned a weekend trip and when we got back home she was so happy and no depression she very much enjoyed herself, they also sent us an e-mail of her at a birthday party they had that weekend. We are now leaving her there for 3-4 days a week for Respite care and she looks forward to being with all the staff. The staff I have to say are VERY caring for they tend to all my mothers needs. If any of you out there are taking the step of caring for your parents this is the place to take a look at for long term stay or just a Respite stay for a trip well needed. Thank You Josie & Matt and ALL your STAFF for your caring and support.
I am a yoga instructor, not an employee, but contractor for this facility as well as other facilities in the area. I will tell anyone that this is one of the BEST places I have ever taught. I have Yelped another place, in another city, and it was not a good review. I teach chair yoga once a week here, and this is what I see. Caring staff, smiling and courteous. We are close to the dining room, the kitchen staff are totally courteous to residents, to the point I have noticed if they miss a meal, they can still go eat, which is something I don't see at most facilities. One thing I notice is how they interact with the senior center in town, as well as other Commons around the valley, playing Wii for trophys. The residents seem really happy about competing! If you have issues, you need to communicate, sometimes things are not as they seem. I most def. give this place one of the top places in the area! Oh, and the grounds are beautiful!!!!
My mom has lived at The Commons for almost three weeks. It has been a great experience all the way around. My mom moved from out of state and Josie was extremely helpful in getting us through all the paperwork, the doctor visits for more paperwork, and an assessment done by a sister location. She helped keep me and my sister sane through the process. My mom was very, nervous and apprehensive about moving to an Assisted Living facility, especially one she had never seen before. She threatened to walk home if she didn't like it. Lo and behold, she seemed to love it right from the start. The facility is lovely, the grounds are beautiful and to a person, everyone there welcomed my mom with open arms. She has blossomed there. I think she spends more time out of her apartment than in it. She loves the activities and events. The only thing I would like to see added is an exercise room with several machines. I think mom would benefit from some that might help with balance and building muscle.
The staff is totally unprepared to take care of my mother. They can't even get the proper meds to her at the proper time. We pay a fee for that and they have been very unprofessional. They have treated my mother with very little respect. They would wake her up at 7:30 to check her diaper which is always dry. They have invaded her privacy. I feel the management is way over their heads and are only in it for the money. As long as everyone does what they are supposed to do then things are fine. But, they are incapable of taking care of the elderly. I'm very disappointed and would never recommend this facility to any of my loves ones, not even my dog. Sorry I can't give it a negative star.
DeAnna in the Sales Department made our very quick visit enjoyable and most accommodating. She truly heard what our needs were and bent over backwards to accommodate us.This is a beautiful Assisted living Residence for your loved one. It's completely updated, very warm and just like home. The Residents all are very happy and the staff seem very happy as well.It is small enough to know you by name, yet very professional. It was a huge Blessing to be referred to The Commons and Deanna made the transition very easy and fast. She went out of her way to help us.Thank you Deanna for an excellent job. You truly are an awesome asset to the already great residence. We appreciate you very much!Sincerely,Andra Sill for Lee Annette Mallison
Many opportunities for advancement. If you enjoy working with the elderly then this place is great. An employee can start in one department and transfer to another if they want a change in duties. I have been working here for over two years and many things have changed for the better with the new MBK ownership. They donate to the community and have many benefits and amenities for the residents to take advantage of.
