Im a agency nurse and called them to enquire about the current covid status at the facility.. I was told by the Scheduler that they weren't able to disclose that information. Which isn't true.Everyone has the right to stay informed and they don't allow that by not being transparent. I didn't ask who I asked how many residents and she proceeded to get nasty I heard her mumble under her breath and called me a N!gger. I told the trash to shut up and hung up. They don't have any staff and this is the reason why. They treat their employees horrible. Just check out their reviews on glassdoor.
To everyone that took care of my dad R. Palma:Thank you all so very much for all you did for my dad over the years. Thank you for the sympathy card. Please pass this along to all those wonderful caretakers that took good care of my dad. I really appreciate the hard work.Sincerely,Maria Dimepelie & Family
In November 2020, my uncle was placed here temporarily for rehabilitation following a stroke. He didn't even make it to 30 days in the facility. They refused him water, claiming that it was because of his swallow assessments (that they waited almost 3 weeks to even do) and failed to provide alternate means of hydration. This led to an ER Visit for Kidney failure due to dehydration. Their communication is almost non-existent unless you go over their heads to the corporate offices. Then, when we went to pick up his personal effects, they refused to provide us with his medical records, but didn't even ask for an ID before turning over his effects. We could have been anyone.Jim, the administrator, tried to physically intimidate my sister into leaving the building, and became agitated that a different vehicle with Texas plates was parked incorrectly. He assumed it was our vehicle, and assumed she was me. He also admitted to her that they don't have security cameras!Looking further into their reports, short term care residents end up in the ER entirely too often. Knowing they have a contract with a local hospital to provide 30 day care for Medicaid pending patients, it doesn't take a genius to see that they don't care about providing care until they know how much they can bring in. They are abusing and mistreating the people who are the most vulnerable, during a time that loved ones cannot visit them in person, and aren't allowed to speak to them on the phone unless the resident has a personal cell phone.Inmates in jails are treated better than their residents. Don't send your loved one here.
If I could give them a zero i would I have work 20 + years in patient care , wish I had taken pictures during that worst ever 8hr shift. First time and last ever working there the employee are over worked and the patients are overly in neglected daily There was fleas in soil utilitiesroom roaches in patient sleeping rooms just nasty cold food at meal time, i would not allow my pet in here. My misfortunes was caring more for patient care and less on charting that even i didn't get access in til after noon time and yes I had some unexpected words to say to manager they didn't like too much but it was real, i was walked out after patient care was done at end of shift only needed to finish charting which I was doing before management walked me out like I was being unruly, state needs to pop up in there because I now believe with all them violation I saw in there its bound to be more illegal care happening and quote with a nurse saying after i tell him a patient asking for pain meds,I will get to a patient when I can he will be alright is so disrespectful but I know karma is real.
This nursing home is the worst ever. My mom was placed there and my mom suffered. The staff doesn’t care about the residents. The Administrator and their newest DON should find other jobs. I had to take my mom to the hospital on 6/22/20 and she almost died. My mom will not be going back and I will also report their negligence to the Virginia Department of Office and Licensure along with the Department of Health Professions. They really need to shut that place down. PLEASE! PLEASE! Don’t take your love one there. You will regret it.
