My brother is new to The Cannon House . I'm not sure if they are understaffed or just don't know how to resolve issues in a timely manner . Iv been trying for 2 weeks to have a few issues resolved and as of today July 4th 2021they have not been resolved . So far I'm not impressed but will wait to see if things improve a bit
Seamar Cannon House an assisted living facility (Cannon House(Seattle), is not a place you would want to house your dead dog in. Read on, and decide if you would want your grandparent or parent who might be deaf or blind and/or disabled in this situation. People that are in Cannon house already, do not get their medication on time if they get it at all sometimes, if they request emergency medications in the middle of the night the staff members comprehension is so poor they cannot understand what the person is asking for. This can be a life-threatening situation for some people. The staff at Cannon house cannot speak the official language (English) of this country well enough to understand simple requests. They have been caught in so many violations by the state it's sad, that they are actually still open. Currently they have no receptionist, who is not just a receptionist but handles Transportation needs for doctor's visits, and more. Additionally There is currently not a social worker, the person that residences turn to when they are having a problem. this has been going on for weeks neither have been replaced nor is there any sign of them being anytime soon. So that means any of the people who are there who may be blind, deaf, or mute or a combination- - or simply just so disabled they can't do anything for themselves are trapped. They can't go out they're blind or disabled. Even if they might have a walker or a wheelchair they can't get anywhere. Because it's not safe, it's life threatening.Additionally the food there barely covers nutritional needs. At times it's something that you would expect in a third world country. To get a tortilla with nothing black beans in it for your meal ! If they have V8 for breakfast, there is a guarantee that they are going to have weakly watered down tomato type soup for lunch. Same thing goes for any meal they might have during the week if they can pour some water into it and call it soup, they will do it. It wouldn't be so bad if they added more flavoring for a broth, but it doesn't even make it that far. When you have a soup that has pasta in it you should be able to find a noodle in there somewhere. Or vegetable soup with no vegetable pieces?!If you have friends or family that have a connection to Cannon house please make them aware of this if you have someone in this hellhole find a way to get them out. Report anything that is not good to DSHS.(866-363-4276 - 866-.ENDHARM)
The place as a whole is good for older folks and is in a nice area but as far as the workers go they are very rude! Everytime anyone from my family has tried to contact their friends or other family members the people at the front desk are either unhelpful, rude, or dont ever know what they are talking about. The woman at the front desk has always been VERY rude both on the phone and in person. My advice is to hire someone new.
I am not sure about how they are as a retirement community, but Cannon House does have a great facility with decent parking. The location is right on a busline and the staff is all very friendly. I went to Cannon House a number of times for meetings through a volunteer program I did and really enjoyed it there.
