Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?

We provide nursing, medication technicians and caregivers, which can include CNA's. We ensure proper training and licensing, and our staff undergoes monthly training in line with Florida regulations for assisted living facilities.

Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?

We implement comprehensive safety measures, including regular staff training on emergency protocols. We conduct regular inspections to address any potential hazards. Additionally, we promote a supportive environment for residents well-being and have protocols for health monitoring and response to medical needs.

Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?

We do offer resources for families to help with transition. We provide literature and access to classes and videos on the request of families. Our sales department can also provide contact information for a support group that specializes in support for families and care givers.

Do you offer transportation services for residents?

We offer transportation to and from doctors appointments as well as various activities.

Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?

We offer three meals a day prepared in-house by our culinary team. There are always plenty of options with daily specials as well as items offered every day for those who prefer to stick with the same thing. Our culinary team meets with every resident upon moving in to go over dietary restrictions and preferences. We also offer all-day dining for those who like to eat outside traditional dining hours.

What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?

We hold monthly resident council meetings where residents' can voice any concerns or issues. In addition, our executive director has an open door policy and encourages any feedback or concerns.

What is the cost of living in your community?

Various elements contribute to our pricing structure. Factors such as the size and location of the apartment, the required level of care for residents, as well as other variables like medication management. Currently, our assisted living pricing is starting at around $3,900.

What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?

As part of you or your loved-one's care plan, you will have regularly scheduled meetings with the care team. In addition, our executive director sends out monthly newsletters updating families on what's going on with the community. As any concerns come up with residents, families are immediately notified and consulted. Sunrise is very dedicated to providing constant communication with our families.

Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?

We do offer 30 day respite stays. The cost would be determined by amount of care needed and specific apartment chosen.

Are you all a pet-friendly community?

Yes, we allow pets.

Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?

Yes. We hold Covid and Flu vaccine clinics in our community.

Are residents able to age in place?

Residents are truly able to age in place at our community. We hold an ECC (Extended Congregate Care) license by the state of Florida. This allows us to provide more care than a standard assisted living facility. As a resident ages and their needs increase, many find they have to go to a new facility to have these needs met. At Sunrise of Jacksonville, we have nurses on staff 24/7. We are able to care for residents with catheters, feeding tubes, sliding scale insulin needs and also hospice care with no need to move. We also have a wonderful memory care community if this need arises. We do have a waitlist.
