Our mother was at Sunrise East Cobb for just over 18 months before she passed but we can not say enough about the caring staff there. Mother was high maintenance to say the least, but they handled her perfectly!! During these crazy times, of course we were unable to see her but were comforted by knowing she was receiving the best care. It gave our family a sense of peace. We would definitely recommend Sunrise East Cobb for your loved ones.
My uncle has been a resident at Sunrise for almost a year now. I am extremely pleased with the care that he's been given through this crazy COVID year. They've been very attentive to all his needs: medically, emotionally and socially. Sunrise has provided him with excellent medical care and monitoring. They've have kept him connected to his family, and at the same time kept him safe and healthy. The staff has always been friendly, kind and helpful with all our concerns, and stays in constant communication with me. I could not have found a better place for him to reside; he is happy and thriving due to their care and diligence .
I can not say enough about our experience with Sunrise. It has been 8 days since I first heard of Sunrise and it has been great. We moved my Mother in two days ago and she has been treated like a queen Sean and the entire staff has been very welcoming and accommodating to our every need. Sunrise is so clean, the staff very nurturing and the food! Dana, the chef, loves what he does and it certainly shows! I feel very confident in the care my Mother is receiving! Thank you Sunrise!
We moved my mom here from another facility in Stone Mountain, and it couldn't have been a better decision. Whereas in the previous facility, Mom was treated like a patient, at Sunrise at East Cobb, Mom is a person. The staff genuinely engages with her and TRULY knows her inside and out. As a result, in only 6 months, Mom has come back to her vibrant, sharp self. She has so many opportunities to connect with other members and to experience cultural activities and special events. The staff is always open to suggestions and follows up on requests in a timely manner. I asked the nurse to look over the medications from her old facility to see what could be streamlined. As a result, Mom has gone from barely being able to stay awake for a conversation to taking an active interest in her life, even talking politics with my daughters. I couldn't be more grateful to this exceptional staff.
This home is notorious for expecting staff to carry unreasonable work loads where one person might be responsible for 20 patients all while receiving the lowest pay. I have experience with elderly patients many are demented and combative. One had my coworker by the neck, I tried helping and could barely break his grip, unfortunately these patients are incontinent so staff has to constantly change diapers and empty bed pans. Family members visit with high expectations, but they should question the facility in advance regarding the ratio of patients to staff. Mr. Terell should file suit against the facility for putting him in a compromising situation. I have worked with many patients which I love, but some others make my job very difficult, especially older white patients, they have been known to address black caregivers using the “N” word. My heart goes out to both families. Mr. Terell should have been released today, his attorney was a joke as was the state. I hope Terell is not required to pay that lawyer. If so he is due a refund. Just Saying, I will keep him in my prayers.
No training for staff that are caring for your loved ones. DO NOT GO, Find an EDEN facility. One of their staff KILLED a resident in their memory care. He had no formal training should never had been left with a resident. This jerk is on court tv. Listening to the resident call his daughter pleading to come quick, that they were killing him, is beyond words. In his own words on a recording he is saying “I’m dying” the poor resident was a WW11 vet, he was 91 years old. Please keep your loved ones away!
Surely with the trial happening right now on court TV of the aide accused of murdering the 91 year old man will solidify your decision to send someone to this facility! How can someone beat an elderly person to death that has dementia? I'm horrified and angry that a facility can't hire and retain trained individuals when the price of this facility is over $80, 000 a year!?!
If I could give zero Stars I would. My Father is wheelchair bound and unable to propel himself. I would visit and he would be in his chair facing a wall. They frequently forgot to take him to meals - I know this because I would visit during meal time and find him in his room - one time facing the cabinets in his kitchette area. He was unshaven - at least 5 days of growth and the aides said they needed a reminder on the wall to brush his teeth at night. After 45 days the in house Dr had still not seen him nor prescribed his pain meds. I took him out of there ASAP. The staff are lazy neglectful and downright mean. The managers and higher ups are beyond rude. I beg you - run - run as far away from this hell hole as possible. If you love your parent - find another facility. They are out there - I found a decent one for my dad.
Sunrise of East Cobb was a devestating experience for us. My sister is in need of an assisted living facility with a Hoya lift. Since my sister was still in rehab, I was checking out places for her. She is grossly obese because she has been immobile for years and in a wheelchair. She has been independent until the past few months. After hospitalization in May, she was sent to rehab with physical & occupational therapy. She is to be discharged next Monday. She had been assessed by regional nurse for Sunrise and approved for care. All paperwork was complete but she wanted to see the suite so yesterday (Monday before discharge date next Monday) we went to Sunrise. We were scheduled to meet with Director of Sales who had already met my sister at the rehab center. She had been great through the entire process. When we got to Sunrise a Regional Director of something met us & went into suite with us. My sister wheeled herself into & out of the bathroom with no problem. This regional director said immediately, "I don't think we are going to be able to care for you. If you fall in that bathroom, we can't get Hoya lift into bathroom to lift you." I couldn't believe what my ears had just heard. Here we are ready to move her in a few days and now this regional person says we can't help you. She apologized for our trouble but she was adamant that they could not accommodate my sister. It was total discrimination because of my sister's size. The nurse that evaluated her saw no problem. The Director of Sales had seen no problem. However, the decision was made. The non-refundable down payment was returned to my sister and a senseless apology made. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
