I am so appreciative and greatful that my mom and dad found such a beautiful and wonderful place to call home. They have been more active and happy then they have In years. I can't wait to to visit them both with my daughter this Christmas. Thank you all , for your skills and experience to make this a home to my parents! ♥🙏♥🙏
This place is beautiful. I attended a breakfast event here a couple of days ago and would enjoy starting off every day with that food. They leverage their pool and other health and lifestyle amenities to keep their residents healthy and engaged. Ownership is local and takes a positive and active role, and their staff is friendly and helpful.
My parents have been living here for the last 2 years, each with varied and changing needs. The people at Sterling treat them both with kindness and always with professionalism. It is a beautiful setting, very clean, very nicely appointed and has given them a beautiful place to call home. A delightful range of people call Sterling home, so the energy level and conversations can be quite lively :) It's never easy, leaving home, so I highly recommend Sterling.
We had a wonderful tour with Sharon this week and got to meet friendly ED Marnie and nurse Kate who my mother just adored! We also met energetic Lisa the Activities Director, who I could tell is always coming up with things to keep the residents busy! Everyone was so kind and loving to my mom! Residents kept coming up to us throughout our visit to speak to my mom and tell her they hoped she moved in and how much she would love it there-wow, THAT sealed the deal! My mother squealed like a 5 year old when I told her they had availablility and we could move her in next week. We are so EXCITED to be joining the amazing Sterling family!!
My mom has lived at Sterling Estates for the past 6 months. She has found old friends and developed new relationships. At 91 she has a new lease on life. She has started painting. She exercises daily and even swims in the pool! Thanks to all the fun loving staff at Sterling Estates, I now have piece of mind knowing she has found her "second home".
My 90-year-old dad has lived at Sterling for almost 10 yrs. He recently commented how friendly everyone at Sterling is, and how helpful they are, "even when the area where they are helping is not even their responsibility.” What a blessing Sterling is to their residents and their families! (He also regularly comments how good the food is!)
I have had the privilege of spending a lot of time at the beautiful Sterling Estates East Cobb. It is a stunning estate and as you drive up, you are reminded of days long ago when people visited outside on the their front porches sharing stories and enjoying a good laugh. Once inside you are greeted by staff that are always wearing a smile and work hard to make sure their residents feel safe and at home, while providing all the amenities of a high end hotel. I’m always impressed with the activity room that is bustling with happy participants and the expansive dining room that overlooks a charming courtyard. I would highly recommend Sterling Estates East to everyone I know!
I stayed there for 2 months of respite care after a stroke, and I truly believe I am able to walk again and live alone because of the GREAT care and encouragement I received there. The Wellness Center folks really responded to my needs as an individual and created very specific workouts for me. They managed to balance positive feedback with a push for growth. Everyone there, from the Wellness physiotherapists to the dining staff to the nurses and aides to the office staff, could not have been more positive and encouraging. And the food was fabulous! I have nothing but the best things to say, and I was actually a bit sorry to leave. Definitely HIGHLY recommend Sterling!
If you value your worth and looking for a place to work where you will be valued and respected don’t work here. It took two attempts for me to finally realize God didn’t want me to work here. My employment didn’t work out because I wanted to work a set schedule which doesn’t work for them which I completely understand. However, I did 6 hours of training before we ended things. I was hired at the rate of $13/hr, when these guys paid me they paid me at the rate of $12/hr and only paid me for 5 hours of work. What employer on earth does that!? I’m bigger than $13/hr that’s why I didn’t want to push things on this issue. However, it’s wrong to cheat anyone on the hours they worked whether or not things didn’t work out. Ever met an employer so mean and rude?? Wait till you meet Marshall whatever his last name is! This guy is by far the most irritating employer I ever came in contact with! Very unprofessional and took it way personal when I told him I couldn’t work a set schedule. I will never recommend anyone to work here. No wonder they are always short staffed, from an employee point of view, this place is absolutely a no no.
My mother moved into Sterling Estates earlier this year and has had a very positive experience. The wellness center has been a godsend. Along with the physical therapy prescribed by her doc, they are helping her recover from a bad fall. Sterling is a very attractive facility, with lots of things to do, caring employees, and good food. My mother is very happy there.
If there was an option for a 6-star rating, this would have it! Our mother has been a resident for 9 months after living independently with our father who passed of pancreatic cancer last summer. Sterling was one of many communities we evaluated to ensure she would be in the ideal environment to support her active social interests along with her increasing memory challenges. It was obvious that Sterling was unmatched due to its reputation, quality of care, impressive facility, experienced team, engagement and satisfaction of residents, and, of course, the upscale menu. Our mom assimilated quickly as both the Sterling team and long-term residents ensured she learned her way around and was introduced to new friends and activities. Having a garden patio apartment that we were able to dress up with a look and feel that she felt was very cozy added to the instant appeal...coming from a large home, she had more than enough space to be comfortable. In the time that our mother has been at Sterling, she has thrived. She enjoys the company of others, appreciates a laugh with friends, takes comfort in knowing she can assist others who will in-turn assist her, and is always up for a group gathering when music and a glass of wine are involved. A sense of community is alive and well at Sterling Estates!Knowing that we placed great trust in the Sterling team the first day our mom walked through their door, it holds true even more today. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sterling team has gone to great lengths to ensure the safety of all residents and staff. Their attentiveness to the needs of residents, responsiveness to one-off requests and thoughtfulness to critical details, is very reassuring. The positive energy that is part of their culture shines through in the daily updates detailing new measures being implemented to mitigate risks while keeping residents healthy and happy. We are fortunate and extremely grateful to have had such an easy transition that has led to a wonderful place for our mom to call “home”. There is no question that the talented and genuinely caring team at the beautiful community of Sterling Estates has played a huge role in our level of satisfaction!Cari, Katie and Bryan
The staff at Sterling Estates are wonderful, and they've become an extended part of our family. They took great care of my mother, and she enjoyed all her time there. Even during the most challenging moments, the Sterling team showed patience and love with my mother and our family. We appreciate all they do, and we love them, too!
Sterling Estates of East Cobb is such a special place. We feel so blessed to have found it for my wife's sister. She was living alone, is battling breast cancer and on top of that, broke her shoulder. She recently moved into a wonderful apartment at Sterling Estates that is exactly what she needed. As spacious and comfortable as her unit is, the thing we are most pleased with is how the staff has cared for her. No matter what she needs they are always there with a smile and an answer. In addition she has made wonderful friends. Most important, she now feels that she is home. We could not have asked for more.
My mom stayed at Sterling Estates of East Cobb this past month for respite care after a total knee replacement. We were so impressed with the staff, the food, the facility, and the care provided to its residents. Mom had a tough time after surgery and needed the extra services provided by Sterling's exceptional Wellness Center staff as well as the ability to relax and heal in this caring environment.Mom rolled into Sterling a month ago in a wheelchair and walked out using only a cane!Thank you to Lora and Lacey, who helped us navigate the world of senior living and made sure our needs were met; Denise, who helped mom feel at home from our first visit; Laura and Brandi, who kept mom motivated and gave her the tools to heal and get strong; Laura and Yasmin (and the chef!), who kept her well-fed on delicious food, and all of the wonderful staff who checked on her, brought her food or wheeled her to activities when needed, and shared their kindness with her on difficult days. We really appreciate all of your help!
I lived here for about 8 weeks, as a "family caregiver" for my disabled stepdad, when my mom was hospitalized & soon after passed away. Very hard times for us.I'm eternally grateful to Sterling Estates managers & staff for their genuine compassion, respect, timeliness, and much above & beyond help in all ways we needed... as I also dealt with mom's estate matters, stepdad's 911 emergencies, my painful disabilities, and preparing stepdad to move to a nursing home in another state, near his daughter.Front desk genuinely friendly, welcoming, helpful, with great follow through on our service requests of all kinds.Spiritual needs well taken care of by visiting clergy. Housekeeping staff work very well. Assisted living help very good by staff & live-in specialists. Health services available for medication management, visiting medical services available; County police, fire & rescue department very nearby. We personally benefited from 911 help three times during 8 weeks with stepdad. The good sized community of residents were wonderful to me & for me. I'd be glad to spend the rest of my life among them, making the best of precious time & energy, sharing the ups & down of our lives, hobbies, & interests. The facilities are well designed & built, relatively new, many units are roomy, & community spaces are well appointed furnished & decorated. Positively energizing, no overloading. Enough laundry rooms & machines, though the machines much used, about ready for new replacements.Maintenance is also very impressive. Competent & prompt, respectful, & respectable. Waste disposal is timely & thorough. Household property donations are quickly processed.Food, almost heavenly for me. Exceptional quality & presentation, very good portions (neither too large nor too small), & extras are available for the asking. Flexible menu for people with special dietary needs. Visitors' meals are reasonable priced, especially considering the obvious quality.Landscape and scenery pleasant & peaceful. Almost rural land to the south. Single family housing to the north, mostly hidden by trees & shrubs. Shopping & restaurants a few miles away.Overall, a place I would be glad for my spouse & I to best spend our remaining years.
When a parent suffers a life-altering event like a stroke, you have to make so many decisions at once. After getting Mom out of rehab, we thought we had found the right place for her. It was smaller and promised more hands-on attention that we thought would be important for someone in her physical state. Not having anything to compare it to, we kept her in that particular assisted living facility for three years. I only wish we had found Sterling Estates sooner! Mom has absolutely thrived here. From the food to the entertainment and activities to the attention she gets from the staff, she feels like this is her home now. It’s a relief for us, too. We always wish there was more we could do. It’s comforting knowing that even when we can’t be there, she’s being cared for by an amazing group of people.
My parents moved here 2 years ago out of physical necessity for my Mom’s increasing needs. She received attentive, loving care from the staff. When her needs became more medically critical, Sterling smoothly made way for hospice care to step in and work side by side with the staff. Since then, my Dad has continued to thrive, enjoying the excellent, healthy meals, playing weekly bridge and poker, and relaxing with new friends. Lisa Cook, activities director, is a ball of energy that constantly plans stimulating, upbeat and relevant activités and outings. The best part of Sterling for him, hands-down, has been his involvement in the wellness program. He participates in daily exercise classes, personal training, and aquatic therapy, which he looks forward to each week. Laura Kelly, CTRS, is amazing! The dedicated work that Laura and her also wonderful intern Devyn have put in with him has made a huge difference in the quality of my Dad’s life.
I began looking into retirement communities about two years ago. It was quite an adventure . I learned so much...and noticed differences with each one of the communities I visited. I am now here at Sterling Estates...in a beautiful cottage...and after only one month of living here, feel settled and at home. What made me choose Sterling? The staff is truly dedicated to each resident...and the upbeat atmosphere manifests this. The food is really good...there are many many activities and events and the other residents throughout the community are friendly and welcoming. Lora Causey, my main contact through the entire process was always available, always positive...she's a perfect example of the caring, positive attitude of Sterling Estates East Cobb.
My father has been living at Sterling Estates for the past year. When we brought him to live there he was in a wheel chair and could not even walk to the bathroom without help. He was depressed and sometimes bitter. He could not get use to being a widow. At first, he did not want to live at Sterling. Now you could not pull him away with a team of mules. Due to the exceptional physical therapy conducted through their wellness program, Dad is now extremely mobile and can move around with just a cane/walker. The staff has been great and the food is good. (He has gained 26 pounds) The best thing is the smile. His smile is back. He has friends he communicates with and the staff are second to none. He called the Bingo numbers last week! I would have never thought i would see that a year ago. I highly recommend Sterling Estaes to everyone with someone that is getting to the point of needing assistance.SincerelyTony Hodge
I have been volunteering at Sterling Estates for a year and have enjoyed every experience the fine staff exposed me to. The residents are very friendly and fun to share experiences with. I was introduced to Sterling by Lisa Cook, the Activities Director, who works hard and is extremely sensitive to the resident's needs. Lisa is not the only one. All the staff who I have been in contact with are dedicated to their mission. It is an honor for me to do what little I can to add value to their mission.
Unbelievably excellent experience! As a 57 year old 3rd generation Atlanta native I am in a search for future home for my 77 year old mother who currently lives on Georgia's golden coast. We arrived without an appointment on a Saturday 10:30 Am - hoping to see the facility and a few units to tour . The entire staff was professional and knowledgeable and most importantly- caring and personable . Lacey was exceptional as manager -excellent interaction with residents- they adore her!!! the quality of the facility and its saline heated pool, rehab center were best of class! What was most amazing and comforting to me was that over the course of our 1 hour tour, 7 separate owners and residents of Sterling estates were eager to let us tour their cottage . They literally could not stop themselves from sharing with us how happy they were and how caring and helpful the staff were.A truly amazing place and team !!!! Literally a 10 out of 10!!!
