I didn't really know what hospice did, but when my grandfather was dying I was so grateful they were there. My grandfather died a peaceful death at home with his family by his side, just as he wanted. They made sure we were informed and comfortable. They were on time and dependable. Though they were in the same house, they did so in a way that gave us privacy, gave our family space to cry and yell without being bothered and they were still there, ready for us, when we needed help and had questions. Grateful.
Silverado hospice Ventura did a very good job at providing for my grandma up until her death in May 2020. Jose Martinez director of business development for Silverado was very professional, wise, attentive and always very helpful to answer any questions my family and I had. Daniela, social worker for silverado was organized, a great listener and informant. Thank you to Silverado for their superb job on the caring of my grandmother.
LIARS!!! Bordering on criminal! I spent the day yesterday with the Hospice Liaison, Jose and one of their nurses (can't remember her name). I was with my dying friend and her family at Community Memorial Hospital. We were told REPEATEDLY by every person we came into contact with from this company, be it in person or on the phone, that they... 1. have the correct equipment that was needed for the home 2. that it would be delivered btwn 6-8 pm 3. that they would then send an ambulance to the hospital to pick up the patient 4. they would have a nurse stay for the first 12 hours straight.5. they would "take care" of the removal of equipment from the previous hospice company. Yes we changed companies at the 11th hour because the patient needed a very high dose oxygen machine that Silverado insisted they have!Silverado did NONE of this. We waited, waited, called, called for the delivery and were finally told that they didn't have enough drivers so it would be delivered tomorrow. Had the patient gone home and waited until "tomorrow" she would have died waiting. We were then told that they don't have 12 hour nursing shifts, only 2 hour shifts! This was another reason we switched hospice companies...so the patient could have a 12 nurse when she arrived at home. If I was a family member and had the stamina to file a lawsuit against this company it would be in the works right now.DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!! THEY ARE BLATANT LIARS THAT WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING TO GET YOUR BUSINESS!!
Do not use this chain! Horrible patient care! Do not leave your loved ones here! Why would you risk horrible care for someone you care about? My grandpa had the worst time here as she was getting sicker and sicker and she was unattended to for a long period of time. They only care about your money. If you love your close family members, explore other options in the area.
Silverado is a class act -They answer the phone on the first ring -They are incredibly professional and moreover compassionate and caringIt’s so rareEspecially during this time in LA.My husband and I are in Chicago and trying to manage everything from across countryWe had a horrible experience with another small hospice company -They were not professional and called us at mid nite one night and told us they were closing permananently immediately - abandoned my mother in law -Gave us no resources and they just didn’t careSilverado is exceptional !
