My mother was sent to Riverside for rehabilitation and physical therapy. When we arrived, the front desk didn’t know we were coming. Her bathroom was dirty and the air conditioner made so much noise that it kept her up at night. We brought these concerns to the staff and the cleanliness was addressed. The AC was not fixed. Her PT and OT services were fine, but my mother had to be rushed to the hospital after only a day here because they gave her medication that she should not have been taking. She is diabetic and they were not checking her blood sugar. The ER was able to save her but I would not trust this facility ever again. It’s unfortunate because the staff are nice enough but there are not enough of them to truly keep an eye on everything. If I had not been in the room when my mother had low blood sugar, she would have died. The call button is on the bed too far away and there are not enough nurses to be able to check in.Additionally, the onboarding process was them just handing me papers. I had to ask to speak with someone about the process and ask to have a meeting about my mothers care plan.Do not trust this facility if you have anywhere else to go.
