Leadership and Staff Expertise
Our executive director has a degree in social work with a geriatric concentration. Our other leadership (Assistant director, accountant, office manager, food service, activities director, educator) all have college degrees in their fields with many years of experience. Our Wellness director is an RN, overseeing the Assisted living and Memory care communities. All staff are trained for their specific roles, ensuring experienced care workers in every position. We value continuing education throughout the year.
Building Accessibility and Safety
Our building operates from 8am-8pm, with doors locked thereafter. Staff is present 24/7, and independent living residents are provided with personal emergency transmitters and a key for after-hours entry. Our campus in Canandaigua is well-lit and secure, reflecting the safety of the community.
Welcome and Transition
New residents are greeted by an assigned ambassador and can request support from a social work intern or staff for a smooth transition into our community.
Transportation and Meals
We offer courtesy transportation prioritizing doctor appointments, alongside scheduled trips for shopping and community events. Residents enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast on weekdays, with dinner served at 5pm, M-Sat. Options for a 15 or 30 meal plan are available at $10/meal, featuring scratch-made dishes by our on-site chefs.
Resident Support and Feedback
Residents can voice issues or complaints at monthly meetings or directly to our executive director. We maintain an open-door policy for pressing matters.
Costs and Living Options
Apartment costs range from $3479-$4757 per month, with a one-time community fee of $1000. Additional charges may apply for meal plans, parking, extra housekeeping, or pet fees. We are pet-friendly, preferring small dogs and cats.
Communication and Care
Independent living residents are expected to communicate with their families directly, with the executive director stepping in if necessary. In assisted living or memory care, our Wellness director maintains regular contact with families.
Short Term Stays and Health Services
Short term stays are available for a minimum of two weeks, with the same monthly cost. Covid and Flu vaccines are offered annually in a clinic setting.
Transition to Further Care
Independent residents needing more care have priority for our Assisted living, with the option to hire outside help to remain in the Estates. Moving within the community involves relocating to a different apartment.
Amenities and Waitlist
Residents enjoy various amenities including bi-weekly housekeeping and a meal plan for dinners. As a not-for-profit, private pay community, we currently have a waitlist.
