Powder River Manor Description

Powder River County is a rural, agricultural county located in southeastern Montana. The county covers 3297 square miles and has a population density of 0.6 persons per square mile. The county was created from Custer County on March 17, 1919 and named for the Powder River which runs through it. The Powder River got its name from the gunpowder-colored sand on its banks.

Broadus, named for a local family (Broaddus), is the county seat and the major business center of the county. The Broadus post office was established in 1900. While there are several small communities, Broadus is the only incorporated town in Powder River County. About 28% of the county's residents live in Broadus.

Powder River County is a beautiful place with a population of 1743, according to the 2010 census figures. The population of Broadus is 468.

Powder River County is mostly rural and agricultural, with some oil and timber production. It's mostly grazing land, and since 1954, the amount of farmland has fluctuated between 1.54 and 1.72 million acres. The number of ranches has decreased, but the average size has increased. This reflects a national trend of mechanization replacing manual labor due to the increasing cost to the employer, and the increasing difficulty of finding ranch workers.

Powder River Manor is located 0.9 miles from Miles City, a very small town with a population of 8,796. The community is in a middle class neighborhood where the average income is $58,516, 56% of the country has a higher median income.

This community provides Nursing Home Care and has Studio apartments available. Studio apartments start at an estimated $8,029 a month, while the average cost of Nursing Home Care is $8,029 in Broadus, $7,703 in MT, and $7,090 in the United States. These prices are estimated.
