Community Insights
This detailed information was obtained directly from the Sales Counselor at Plymouth Village via email on Nov. 22, 2023.
Overview of Professional Staff and Training
We are a Life Plan Retirement community offering a comprehensive lifestyle and continuum of care. Therefore we have staff including: clinical (CNA, LVN, RN), teams for dining, human resources, housekeeping, upkeep of buildings and grounds, transportation, activity/lifestyle coordinators, administration, sales, and a spiritual care director. As a member of our sales team, I really couldn’t tell you about all the many types of trainings required for our various staff categories. What I can confirm is that ongoing trainings are conducted to ensure team members are compliant with HIPAA requirements, upholding the rights of our residents, and much more.
Safety and Well-being of Residents
We comply with all State of California DSS rules and regulations, all county food safety requirements, infectious disease protocols, have an evening-morning security patrol, surveillance at both campus entrances.
Support Services for Residents' Transition
Residents moving into Independent Living receive a complementary package of services with a professional senior move management company. Our sales assistant provides support along the way to guide residents through the application and moving process. The level of support provided really depends on the needs of the individual.
Transportation Services
Yes. See Amenities and Services sheet sent previously.
Dining Experience
We use Morrison Healthcare food services. Meals are prepared in-house from fresh ingredients. Residents of independent living have a monthly dining allowance they can use flexibly for prepared meals, some groceries, bottles of wine, catering options. Residents of higher care levels receive three meals a day and snacks as part of their monthly fee.
Resident Complaints and Issues
Depends on the nature of the issue or complaint. Could be as simple as submitting a comment card to Dining and having a conversation with Director of Dining. There is a weekly open meeting wherein residents can bring concerns to the executive director’s attention. Again, depending on the nature of the issue will determine how to proceed in addressing the matter.
Cost of Living
Please refer to my previous email wherein I provided cost information.
Communication with Resident's Families
Depends on the individual resident’s cognitive and physical abilities as to whether we are actively providing updates to any loved ones. If a resident is less capable and independent, we are able to communicate with parties who have been authorized to receive private health information.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We no longer provide short-term post-acute rebab or respite stays for those who don’t live at Plymouth Village. We do offer long-term care placements for non-residents, but those respite and short-term stays cater only to those who have paid an entrance fee and signed a Care and Residence Agreement.
Pet-friendly Community
Yes. Residents may have up to 2 pets: birds, cats, dogs and small aquariums are allowed. We have a waitlist for all cottages larger than 1-bedroom 1bath. At present we have three 1bedroom vacancies, though none are yet ready for occupancy. They are being, or will be, refurbished or renovated.
