Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
Yes, we offer studios and 1 bedrooms and there is a waitlist for both. The studio waitlist is MUCH shorter.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
In house, we have a director of assisted living and she is a nurse as well. We also have LVN’s, RN’s, certified med aides, certified nursing assistants and several support staff members such as housekeeping, laundry, etc. In addition, we recently hired a nurse practitioner and they will be starting next week. Our staff is required to complete monthly training that is tailored to their specific title as well as training that is beneficial for all staff.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
I feel this question would better be answered by our director as she’s more “on the floor” with our residents daily. I do want to mention that we have a great staff to resident ratio which allows our staff to be more involved in the care of our residents. As mentioned previously, we do continuous training to ensure we are adhering to all requirements. In addition, our staff has been a part of a training program called Eden training and this has enlightened our staff and they better understand that Pinecrest is our resident’s home and we show them care and respect at all times.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
We have seminars on a regular basis that talks through making the transition and what that looks like. We also have books and pamphlets to assist and of course I’m here for anything you may need! ♥
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
Yes, we do offer transportation. Grocery store runs, doctor appointments and several other activities.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
We have an inhouse chef that prepares meals catered to the preferences of our residents. We also have a bistro that offers grab and go meals as well as other daily lunch specials. I would be happy to get your lunch one day if you would like to come and join me.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
I feel this answer may vary depending on what that situation is. I will say that the director would be your first point of contact for most issues or concerns and if we feel that the issue is still not resolved, you can also speak to our administrator. Also, we do offer an Ombudsman program. This program will bring in a 3rd party person to essentially be the mediator if we feel that we’re not reaching a resolution.
What is the cost of living in your community?
We have 3 levels of care and depending on care, that will dictate price. I have attached a pricing sheet for your review.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
Keeping our resident’s families abreast of how they’re doing is our upmost priority. Upon admission, we discuss the resident’s preference on who should be called and ensure we have all family members contact info that should be notified if there are any concerns with our residents. We monitor meal intake, med intake, performing ADL’s (activities of daily living) and general changes in behavior. If anything is noted, we will notify family.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
Once upon a time we did offer respite stays however, since we have such a waiting list, we have not had respite stays in close to a year.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
We are but this is determined by what level of care you are receiving. Our assisted living area is limited to cats and birds.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes, we have “clinics” on a regular basis and offer boosters, flu shots, etc.
Are residents able to age in place?
Yes! Our goal is to allow our residents to age in place. What is most important is the safety of our residents. If we feel it not safe for a resident to stay in their particular area, we may discuss options of transitioning to the next level of care.
