Overview of Staff and Training
Our independent staff undergoes online training to educate us on the limited resident incidents that we deal with. Our executive director has been here 10 years, our concierge has been here 26 years, our activity director has been here 23 years, our bus driver has been here 16 years, and our head of security has been here for 15 years. For more information on the training of professionals at our skilled-nursing center, please call our Director of Nursing at 210-696-9744.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We have a 24-hour guarded gate and require every visitor to sign in. An emergency response system pendant monitored 24/7 is provided for each resident in the independent living portion. All bathtubs and walk-in showers are equipped with grab bars.
Transition Support Services
We offer a number of in-home health providers for our independent living residents, including our own in-home health service.
Transportation Services
We offer scheduled transportation Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with special days for grocery shopping, post office and banking, lunch and dinner outings, and additional activities.
Dining Experience
Our dining room is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., serving breakfast all day with daily specials. Lunch and dinner come with a choice of soup or salad, entrees, vegetables, and desserts, with optional wine.
Resident Complaints and Issues
Service requests can be made via phone or at the concierge desk. Emergency maintenance is available 24/7. A resident board of directors meets monthly with department heads to address concerns.
Cost of Living
The rent and fee schedule for independent living is attached.
Communication with Residents' Families
We maintain emergency contact numbers and will reach out in case of a medical emergency or concern. Residents complete a form if leaving the community for an extended period.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We offer respite care in a furnished one-bedroom apartment for $75 per night.
Pet-Friendly Community
We are pet-friendly with a one-time pet fee of $500.
Waitlist Status
We do not currently have a waitlist.
Covid and Flu Vaccinations
We offer Covid and flu vaccinations once a year. The skilled nursing facility may have a different policy.
Aging in Place
Several in-home health care agencies service our community, including one affiliated with our parent company, Ensign Group. We also offer speech, physical, and occupational therapy in the independent building and the skilled nursing center.
Our Unique Community
We are our own neighborhood because we are on 24-wooded acres at the end of a dead-end street with mature trees and nature, including deer, birds, and squirrels. There are no businesses and/or apartment homes next to the community.
All-Inclusive Living
All bills are included (including meals, utilities, housekeeping, & cable,) except for Internet.
Security and Safety
We have a gate that is guarded 24 hours per day. We also provide an emergency alert pendant that is included and monitored 24 hours per day.
Community Spirit
The community is like family with tenured residents and a caring, tenured, staff.
Dining on Your Schedule
We offer all-day dining, meaning there are no restrictions as to what time you must eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The dining room is open from 7 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
Activities and Transportation
We have numerous activities each month. We offer scheduled transportation to doctors' appointments, banking, grocery shopping and outings.
Home Amenities
Washers and dryers are included in the apartment home (except for the studios). We offer studio, one and two bedroom apartment homes.
Spacious Villas
We have villas with attached one-car garages ranging in size from 1,025 square feet to as large as 1,520 square feet.
