Overview of Staff and Training
Within our community, we have a licensed administrator (or general manager) who is tasked with overseeing daily operations and providing supervision to our team, which consists of a licensed nurse and direct care personnel. Furthermore, we have certified level I medication aides on our staff who are responsible for the administration of medications. Our staff is required to undergo comprehensive training as part of their initial orientation. This training equips them with skills and knowledge in various crucial areas related to resident safety and well-being. These areas include emergency preparedness, Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, residents' rights, identification of abuse and neglect, effective communication skills, and, when necessary, assistance with medication management.
Safety and Well-Being Measures
Ensuring safety starts with training of our staff. Our staff undergoes fire safety training and orientation tailored to their specific roles and responsibilities. This training includes education on preserving resident dignity, recognizing and responding to abuse and neglect, and effectively interacting with residents who have dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Transition Support Services
To aide with the physical move, we work with the company Here 2 Help, which provides comprehensive full service packing and moving services specifically designed for seniors.
Transportation Services
We have both a community van and car that we use to provide transportation to and from doctor visits, shopping plazas and entertainment outings.
Dining Experience
Within our community, we offer the flexibility to enjoy dining services at your convenience, available from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Residents have the option to dine in the peaceful atmosphere of the dining room during less busy periods or opt for convenient takeout. Our dining program is structured in a restaurant-style format, allowing residents to select from a menu featuring three entree choices and "always available options," which may include items such as deli sandwiches, chicken breast, petit fillet, and more.
Resident Complaints and Issues
Our general manager operates with an open-door policy, welcoming residents and their families to share any issues or concerns directly with him. If there is a sense that your concerns are not being adequately addressed, residents have the option to reach out to an ombudsman. An ombudsman is an impartial advocate responsible for resolving complaints on behalf of residents living in long-term care facilities.
Cost of Living
Our community is divided into three distinct neighborhoods, each catering to different levels of care: independent living, assisted living, and memory care. These neighborhoods are priced differently to reflect the varying services provided. Independent living options start at a competitive rate of $3,900, while memory care services can extend up to $6,800, offering flexibility and options to meet our residents' diverse needs and preferences.
Communication with Residents' Families
In our community residents and their families have the option to utilize an application called Icon's (formerly known as caremerge). This comprehensive and HIPAA-compliant communication and engagement software serve as an all-in-one platform. It empowers our community to actively engage with residents' families, providing them with essential information and fostering their active participation in their loved one's enrichment journey.
Short-Term or Respite Stays
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost? $200 for assisted living and $250 for memory care.
Pet-Friendly Community
We are very pet friendly. Dogs have the ability to promote a positive physical, emotional and social experience on a daily basis for older adults. Our community has the “Bow Wow Biscuit program” which provides an opportunity for the culinary team and all team members to work together to create a healthy and nourishing dog biscuit that can be given away to residents who currently have dogs living in their apartments or who have dogs that visit them with friends and family. We also have a dog park and bag stations around the community.
