Employee Reviews for Oaks Senior Living in Cumming, Georgia
3.4 out of 5 stars. Based on 5 reviewsOverall, employees who have worked for Oaks Senior Living in the Cumming, GA area have mixed reviews. The best part of the job is taking care of and talking to the residents, but it can be hard when they pass away. Co-workers leave a lot to be desired and management is nice but pry into employees' personal lives too much. The pay is okay for the location, but not for what is expected. Employees have also noted that the workload can be too heavy, with expected training off the clock without any compensation. However, employees generally enjoy working at this place, citing the family-oriented atmosphere and the feeling of doing something that matters. They also appreciate the free lunch.

We couldn't be happier with the friendly and helpful staff as my father in law has made the transition into assisted living. The staff seems to go out of their way to be sure he is included in their numerous daily activities. We stop in frequently and unexpectedly....and have never been disappointed in what we see going on. We truly feel this is a facility full love and compassion for the elderly.
The Oaks at Hampton has been a godsend for our family. We could not have found a better place for our mom and dad to live. The care our dad received was unbelievable. We will never be able to thank the amazing staff enough for the genuine love and affection they showed our dad until his last days. And now they are just as compassionate with our mom as they support her through these rough times. She is told daily that they love her and that we are part of their family. We are at peace knowing that she is receiving the best care. We love this place!! ❤️
From the moment my father moved into The Oaks, it has been a wonderful experience! The staff is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They have so many activities and outings for the residents! I highly recommend The Oaks at Hampton for anyone looking for an assisted facility for their loved ones!
As a pastor I spend time at many of the assisted living facilities in the North Georgia area and I've been visiting the residents at the Oaks since the day they opened. They are consistently loving, caring and helpful toward their residents and visitors in a way that shows they truly care and that it''s a calling not just a job for those who work there.
My brother and I visited in January 2020. It was our first choice for our dad, so we gave them a deposit as they didn't have any openings. Since we never heard from them, in July we moved our dad into another ALF. We never heard from them, but I guess they had an opening. In April 2021, we had to move dad due to behavior problems. Lee assured us they could handle him. We gave them a deposit of $4,000 and moved dad in on a Friday by 4:00pm. They have a very skeletal staff during the weekends. One of the care givers told me they gave dad an RX topical cream for his agitation (without a script). By Monday morning at 9:00am, they kicked out my dad for behavior problems. The staff seemed to really try to work with dad during the weekend. Have NOT received information about a refund (from APRIL). I've left 4 messages. Beware!
Thrilled my Mother can live here. The management, staff and caregivers are all top notch, caring, loving and willing to do whatever needs done. The Covid lockdown has been hard on the residents but they strive every day to keep their spirits up. Highly recommend them for your loved one.
The Oaks at Hampton has gone beyond “The Call of Duty” when caring for my precious parents in the Horizons Unit, which is memory care! The folks at The Oaks at Hampton are the most caring, loving, professional bunch of individuals I’ve ever been associated with! When I lost my father, they were there for my mother, my family, and me. One of the most touching gestures was, when Daddy passed away, they lined the hallway and serenaded him with“Amazing Grace”; I’ll never forget that as long as I live. Plus, they were present at Daddy’s visitation and funeral to comfort us and honor him. God bless all of them for keeping my mother, safe, happy, and loved during this horrible Pandemic at the possible expense of their own health. They are TRULY dedicated to their residents!
We're VERY Lucky to have Mammy at the Oaks at Hampton!! She is surrounded by loving caregivers that have her best interest at heart! This grants us peace and comfort, as we are no longer able to provide her with all the necessary care and attention she requires. She is with her second family now!!
