I chose Oakmont for my sister (I'm her conservator) because of the activities and services they claimed they provided. They said they offered art classes, yoga classes, outings, etc. Not true!My sister was a high functioning memory care patient. In the 5 months she was there, she went from that to barely able to walk or talk. They had her completely drugged up . They were shut down for COVID outbreaks 4 times in those months. She had no problems with incontinence but they made her wear Depends. She had her diamond from her wedding ring pried out and stolen, lost her dentures, had most of her new clothes stolen and replaced with someone rag bag clothes. The list goes on as well. To all of the emails and phone calls I made they couldn't even be bothered to apologize. They just said they weren't responsible for any of the loss. Worst of all they left all the residents in memory care just to sit and stare at a TV. We were NOT allowed to visit for 2 months and never allowed to see their rooms. When I was finally able to see her, I was shocked at the changes. I gave notice immediately and placed her at The Woodlake. In a short amount of time she began to recover not only her personality but her functionality as well.I would NOT recommend this place to anyone that cares about their family members. The care is non-existent and the cost ridiculous. The assisted living side is maintained beautifully . The memory care side is a ghetto by comparison. Altogether a horrible experience.
Their fees keep going UP. The quality of food is really bad. Memory care doesn't get the same as assisted living does. They get less and worse quality. Care givers are not happy anymore. The new directors don't know how to communicate and really won't help us. The NURSE ... don't get me started on the NURSE . She is something else !!They dropped the number of care givers on the floor. Families are starting to help out because the care givers can't care for everyone. We're moving OUT because of what this place has become. I do NOT recommend oakmont or oakmont Carmichael
We don't have a loved one there, but in looking at this place and all it has to offer, I wouldn't hesitate! The place is beautiful, everything so well manicured, and once you look on their Facebook page (with updated pics regularly!), you'll see all the fantastic, creative activities organized on such a regular basis - the smile on the residents' faces says it all. Terri Studstill, the activities director, should be commended. There is constantly some festivity going on, and you can see the positive energy it creates. Great job to everyone!
Absolutely amazing place to work
Very nice and pleasant place for love ones to be. My sister's been here for almost 3 weeks now. Just visited her last Sunday. Her Alzheimer had progressed and she was looking very daunt. Now, her face looks radiant, smiling a lot. Caregivers were very friendly.
Very nice facility.
My friends grandma was living there and was very happy but one day she lost her balance (she was 92 yrs old) and place raised their costs in order to provide her more assistance since she needed physical therapy and she had to move, but kept seeing the hairstylist from there until today that she got a cancelation 2 hours before the appointment she got arranged 4 days ago. That was so rude of the place, specifically since she was a resident not long ago.
This is probably the best place in town. The entire staff is caring and professional. Food is excellent. Lunch service was friendly and attentive. Equivalent to dining at a very nice restaurant.
This community is definitely 5 stars from exceptional front staff that greet you by name to detailed housekeeping and directors who come around from the desk to greet you! Exceptional services!
I work here and love my job as a Medication Technician. My residents and their families are wonderful people to work with. The company works hard to ensure a comfortable living for their residents. *Update: Recent issues with management have led me to change my review from 5 to 4 stars. I won't dock the hardwork of my fellow coworkers, nor complain any about the residents. But improvement is needed.
I have had the great pleasure of being the leader of this community for the past four years working with my team to deliver exceptional service and care to our residents and their families. Come by for a visit so you can experience the Oakmont difference.
