Community Insights
This detailed information was obtained directly from the Director of Community Relations at New Pond Village via email on Oct. 24, 2023.
Overview of Professional Staff and Training
Our staff ranges from housekeeping, program assistants, dining staff, CNA's to nurses and many more. We do ongoing individualized training for every staff member depending on their position that is above and beyond all state required training for assisted livings.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We create an individualized care plan for each resident to ensure their safety and well-being. We have scheduled checks on each resident and security overnight to ensure someone is always available to help if needed, in addition to a pendant emergency call system.
Transition Resources and Support Services
Yes, we have many resources depending on each individual's needs to help residents transition into the community.
Transportation Services
Yes, we offer transportation services that cover a 5-mile radius.
Dining Experience
The dining experience depends on if the individual is in Assisted Living or Memory Care. But both places the resident eats in the dining room, and we have wait staff in both dining rooms to serve them. We have daily specials in addition to an always available menu.
Resident Complaints and Issues
We encourage the residents and families to let us know right away if there is a problem and we will work to address it right away. The process all depends on what the complaint is. A complaint of the food would be a different process than a report of abuse. But we have policies put in place to address any issues, in addition to state regulated guidelines.
Cost of Living
I am attaching the pricing again for you.
Communication with Resident's Families
The directors that oversee each area are regularly in contact with the resident's family to keep them updated, depending on how much communication each resident and family prefers. The nurses will update them with any medical changes as they occur, in addition to regularly scheduled care plans and family meetings.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We can offer respite if we have availability, but priority goes to permanent residents. The cost is an additional 15% on top of the regular costs.
Pet-Friendly Community
We allow cats and small dogs in AL and IL if the resident is able to care for the animal themselves.
Waitlist Information
As I mentioned in my last email, we do have a small waitlist for Assisted Living right now but do have an opening in memory care.
