  • Monroe City Manor Care Center Description

Monroe City Manor has been serving the needs of the elderly community in Monroe City since 1977. It is a stockholder owned, 60-bed Medicare/Medicaid approved skilled nursing facility. Currently 52 residents reside at the facility with a staff of approximately 75 employees. Monroe City Manor has a registered nurse on duty seven days a week.

A Special Care Unit was added in 1997 to meet the needs of our Alzheimer residents and for those with special needs. It is a 12 bed locked unit that provides a quieter environment and enables more one-on-one interaction from our staff.

On-site therapy rehabilitation is available and enables many residents to return to their own homes. Therapies included speech, occupational, and physical therapy with staff who really work to get the resident back to their prior capabilities and beyond in some cases.

Other amenities include: daily laundry services, weekly shampoo and sets in the beauty shop, and a wide variety of activities on a daily basis.

A new van was recently purchased to accommodate more outings and doctor appointments. These outings include local play productions, shopping trips, area attractions, and special meal opportunities.

One of the manor's most appealing assets is their nutritious menu with daily food choices available. Restaurant style dining complete with numerous choices available at each meal with flexible meal times.

Some of the manor's latest improvements have been the addition of a new concrete parking lot completed in 2008 which has added 20 more parking spaces to the existing lot and the addition of a new roof completed in 2009. A entire facility remodel was completed. Every room was painted, new flooring installed, and new fixtures. The front lobby was remodeled with more living room style seating. The entire building now has new flooring. The dining room was also remodeled to make bigger for more seating.
