  • Mitchells Nursing Home Description

We have been a family-owned and operated facility since 1962 when Maurine and Drexel Mitchell first opened our doors. At the time, wages were $0.50 an hour and a monthly stay cost $90. In 1995, Maurine, along with her children James and Agnes, made the decision to rebuild. They constructed our current building, a 105-bed facility right across the street from the original structure. Maurine continued to serve as administrator until she passed away in 2001. Agnes was Director of Nursing for 40 years, until her passing in 2013. Drexel, Maurine, and Agnes left a legacy that we are blessed to carry on. Together with my wife Katie, I am proud to be the 3rd generation of owner/operator to serve this community through our nursing facilities. Like our predecessors, we take pride in working alongside our staff. We employ an amazing group of staff who strive to provide the highest level of quality care for each resident that calls Mitchell's Nursing Home their own home, and for those who need us as a stepping stone to get back on their feet, so they can extend their time in their own homes. Our staff, along with our strong-knit community, has allowed us to provide a wonderful home to countless individuals over the last 60 years. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on so many people's lives. At Mitchell's Nursing Home, we love what we do and we are proud that we get to do it.
