My family and I attended the MVH Bangor Classic Car BBQ the past few years, and it is a great event with great people. It is also inspiring to see the support that MVH Bangor receives from the Maine Air National Guard in Bangor. Watching veterans interact with children, and currently serving members of the military is such a treat. The staff have a unique passion for caring for veterans, and the quality of care at MVH Bangor is world class.
This place is beyond wonderful, great staff (every department) medical providers providing quality, not quantity care, everyone takes time for the patient and family. I wish people didn't only need to be a veteran or veteran spouse to see what this great experience is and what lacks in other facilities that every one should experience. If there was a 10 star option this facility for a rating they would have mine!!!!!
I have been working for the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor for over a year now, and I honestly can admit that I love the family oriented staff and the welcome spin hire was absolutely wonderful. I have worked in several other healthcare establishments and this one by far is the most friendliest and they bend over backwards to accommodate their veterans and staff members. I am very pleased to be a part of the MVH family and I recommend those that want a promising career and satisfaction of a great job and satisfaction to come and put in an application. You will not be sorry that you did.
The nursing staff in charge of the dementia unit is incapable of running a dementia unit. After years in medical school and treating patients around the world I am appalled at the lack of professionalism on the part of the nursing management there. There is a significant lack of training and understanding of how to treat dementia patients, Alzheimer’s patients and PTSD patients.
As I sit here on this Memorial Day, thinking of my Dad who was allowed to pass at your facility all I can say is I hope that 3 certain employees there are dam proud of themselves for believing his 2 lieing ,knieving, stop at nothing Sisters! Ya they loved my Dad so much they had planned to just throw his sick frail dead body in a cardboard casket and throw him in the ground! No service, No Obituary and No Committal service!! My Dad was not crazy, he was right on the money!! They stole him blind for years, told him lie after lie.…anything to keep me away from my Dad as they knew they had coerced him into leaving them everything!! He had 1 dying wish, that was to take a ride to his Farm one more time!! Between you people and his Sisters lies, I was NOT allowed to take my Dad on that final ride!! I am disgusted and will NEVER FORGIVE You people for taking away my Dads quality of life and his patients rights!! I will never recommend your facility to anyone!!!
