Community Insights
This detailed information was obtained directly from the Director of Sales and Marketing at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living via email on Dec. 26, 2023.
Overview of Staff and Training
We are staffed 24/7 with CNAs and Med-Techs, supervised by an LPN. Every staff member undergoes annual dementia and first aid training. CNAs and Med-Techs are required to follow county and state mandated training to maintain their certifications. Additionally, we conduct monthly fire drills and quarterly evacuation drills.
Safety and Well-being Measures
Our front door, which is the only entrance, locks at 9PM. All common areas are under video surveillance, and we have staff present at all times. Visitors must sign in and out at a kiosk, and residents are asked to sign out when leaving the building.
Transition Support Services
We pair new residents with resident ambassadors to help them integrate into the community. They share meals, participate in activities, and more together.
Transportation Services
We offer transportation to local medical appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Dining Experience
Residents receive a daily menu to select from multiple meal options, accommodating most special diets. Meals are served restaurant-style in our dining room, and we provide two daily snacks.
Resident Complaints and Issues
Residents can attend monthly council meetings or directly approach our executive director, Emily Wray, who maintains an open door policy.
Family Communication Policy
Major community events are communicated via email by Emily. Changes in resident care are communicated by our nurse via phone. Families can also use an app to receive updates on their loved one's activity participation.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We offer respite stays at $200 per day with a maximum of 30 days, subject to availability.
Pet-Friendly Community
Residents may bring pets, for which they are responsible, with a $250 pet fee. Pets can also visit, and we keep a copy of the pet’s vet records on file.
Covid and Flu Vaccinations
We host a yearly clinic for vaccinations.
Aging in Place
Residents can generally age in place unless they become totally bed bound without hospice support, have a stage 3 or higher wound, or need IV medications. We aim to allow residents to age in place. Currently, there is no waitlist for assisted living, but there is a waitlist for a male memory care bed.
