Understanding the Monthly Costs at 'Ilima
The monthly cost of living at 'Ilima varies based on several factors including the chosen floorplan, the apartment's location within the building, and the resident's care needs. Unique to 'Ilima, we are the only FULLY licensed assisted living facility on the island, ensuring that residents can remain in their chosen apartment without the need to move as their care requirements change. Consequently, the apartment rent remains constant, irrespective of any progression in the resident's care needs.
The only variable cost is the level of care fee, if applicable. This fee adjusts based on the resident's care requirements.
What's Included in the Monthly Rent?
The monthly rent encompasses a comprehensive range of services and amenities to ensure a comfortable and convenient living experience for our residents. These include:
- All meals and snacks
- Transportation services
- Weekly housekeeping and linen service
- All utilities
- Premium cable and internet
- A variety of resident activities
- Emergency nurse response system
Rent and Care Fees
Monthly rent for studio apartments ranges from $8100 to $8450, while 1-bedroom apartments are priced between $9500 and $9900. Should your loved one require additional care, a level of care fee will be added to the monthly rent. This fee ranges from $850 per month for level 1 care to $2900 per month for level 4 care, the highest level of care offered. The level of care is determined by the resident's primary care physician (PCP) through a physician report and is based on a point system that assesses the amount of time a registered nurse (RN) or aide needs to spend with the resident each day.

All associates undergo training required by the Department of Health and our company, Kisco Senior Living, including âVirtual Dementia Training (VDT).â Training is mandatory at the initial start date and continues throughout the year. Our clinical team consists of registered nurses and certified nursing assistants.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We have comprehensive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. Apartments are senior-friendly with emergency pull cords, walk-in showers, grab bars, and an emergency pendant. The main entrance is locked 24/7, and we have overnight security. For memory care, we offer a secure environment with bed alarms and a fenced garden. We conduct regular safety drills and have plans for natural disasters and infectious disease outbreaks. Personalized care plans are provided for each resident, covering medication management, escorting, and daily living activities. COVID-19 measures include surveillance testing and vaccine clinics.
Transition Support Services
We offer support through resident ambassadors, Helen and Amy, who introduce new residents to the community and facilitate social connections. New residents can also host a complimentary âHousewarmingâ party.
Transportation Services
Transportation for personal or medical needs is included in the monthly rent, with a 24-hour scheduling notice required. We offer a shuttle, mini-van, and sedan.
Dining Experience
Our dining experience features all-day dining, no assigned seating, and a daily changing menu. We cater to all dietary needs and preferences, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for our residents.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
Our Resident Relations Director (RRD), Valerie, is the main point of contact for addressing any complaints or issues, with monthly town hall meetings also providing a platform for discussion.
Cost of Living
The monthly cost varies based on the apartment chosen and care level needed. Our pricing includes all meals, transportation, housekeeping, utilities, activities, and emergency nurse response system. Studio apartments range from $8100-$8450/month, and 1-bedrooms from $9500-$9900/month, with additional care level fees as applicable.
Communication with Residents' Families
We maintain open communication with families through the Google app, providing updates on residents' activities and well-being. Virtual visits are facilitated via community tablets.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We do not offer short-term or respite stays due to high occupancy and a waitlist. However, we offer a 60-day guarantee for new residents to try our community.
Pet-Friendly Community
Residents are allowed up to 2 pets per apartment.
Vaccination Clinics
We offer vaccine clinics for flu, COVID-19, shingles, pneumonia, and RSV to ensure residents have easy access to vaccinations.
Aging in Place
Residents can age in place at âIlima until end of life. We currently have a waitlist for all floorplans, with one 1-bedroom available for immediate move-in.
