After a fall and a stay at the hospital, dad has transitioned to a skilled nursing facility, hood River care center for therapy, support, and assessment. Our experience, up to this point, has been terrific. What a great, caring, and competent staff! Couldn’t be happier with the level of care my father is receiving. Andrea, in particular, front office business manager, has continued to impress, going above and beyond on a number of occasions. So thankful for everyone at HRCC. I feel dad is safe, cared for, and cared about. Thank you!!!!!
I would like to thank all the staff at the Hood River Care Center who helped my Dad recently. He spent 3 weeks after having a fall. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Covid-19 has taken its tole on all, especieally front line workers and their families. We know you continue to make great sacrafices to serve others and please know it is appreciated by those family members of your patients. The staff helped my Dad get set up on his tablet so we could video conference with him and that helped him not feel so abandoned. And they kept an eye on him. Keep up the good work. Psalms 19:17 says, "The one showing favor to the lowly is lending to Jehovah, and he will repay him for what he does." Thank you so much for the support.
My mother has to be in the Mental Health Unit. She was placed here several years ago and after being there for I believe 3-4 years I moved her to Portland, the dramatic difference in care was shocking. I thought everything was fine at the place in Portland because I wanted my mother near me, but when something terrible happened I moved my Mother back to Hood River Care center. They treated her so well, and she is not an easy patient. My Mother has mental illness and dementia and now believes that many of the staff are her daughters. They take the best care of her. At a Portland facility they neglected my mother but at Hood River care Center they take the best care of her. Thank you so much Cease and Ruth and everyone there. I appreciate you so much. Even though she is far away from me from Portland, its worth it for peace of mind.
Found this to be a very dismal place. Building in need of repairs and updating. High staff turnover. Residents aren't happy. No activities or stimulation seem to be available. menus I would rate as -1 pablum. Neglect and abuse of patients very noticable. The only reason the Centre got 2 stars, is because there is a small portion of staff that really care about their residents and treat them with the respect and dignity they deserve. Kudos to them! Most people who enter the care centre doors are not coming out alive. I recommend you look elsewhere for cheaper better quality care.
These folks were WONDERFUL to my mother! She was here for post hospital rehab following hospitalization due to another facility in Gresham who tried to kill her by administering another patient’s medications (cardiac and diabetes meds) when she was there for PT rehab.HRCC had a bit of a bad reputation in the past, but since it’s become a Prestige facility, they are great! Very clean, remodeled facility, GREAT food and a very caring staff! They were invested in her well-being and seemed to really care for her personally.
