Came to work here as an RN and the staff here truly care about their residents. It saddens me about the prior negative reviews because I just came to work here in January and work at both facilities of Avamere. Working at a critical access hospital prior to this, I can say the one on one I'm allowed to have with my residents, is refreshing and most of our long term residents faces light up when our staff walks through the door. We have a home like setting, where we treat residents with respect and dignity long term care nursing has to offer. I truly enjoy the experience and workplace. You wont be disappointed bringing your loved ones here whether it's long term or short term care. 💕💕💕
This care center is amazing. Not only are the nurses and cna's exceptionally caring, but the patients are very happy! My family member is developmentally and physically disabled and I know that they are treated with respect and gentleness. It's very very clean there. No odors and my family member is always clean and washed. I am blessed and happy to recommend this care center.
I am so happy that I decided to make the change and come to Avamere Heritage. I have worked in the LTC industry for over 26 years and this is the first company that I have worked at in a very long time where I actually felt like the upper management cared about my work/life balance. The company has been so receptive to ideas and criticism. I feel like I am being given the support to implement positive changes for both the residents and the staff. I am very excited for what our future holds!
I worked in this facility for 1 month as an RN. I would NOT lay them take care of my mouse much less a loved one, although I love mice! They never had supplies nothing to do a dressing change with, forget trying to prevent pressure ulcers! They don't care and so understaffed it was just sad! One night we ran out of gloves and diapers for any of the patients. Needless to say I never went back. Please don't send your loved ones here. Once I had a new surgical patient that waited for 2 days for pain meds. Not right this place is horrible, seriously. Just atrocious
Horrible place!!!! My friend was there for approx 3 weeks when I picked him up he had bed sores all over his bottom and CLEARLY could tell they did NOT take care of him!! He even had sores on his foot!! This is unacceptable!! Then they tried to blame him!! Saying oh well we asked him if he was ok...HE TOLD YOU GUYS HE WAS HURTING!!!! IT WAS NOT HIS JOB TO TAKE CARE OF HIMSELF!!! DO NOT PUT ANYONE YOU KNOW AT THIS PLACE!!! THEY ACT LIKE THEY CARE BUT THEY DON'T...
This place is terrible. My father-in-law was placed there after a fall. He got bed sores so bad he got Stage 4 sepsis and had to have surgery. I'm not sure that any care was given to him at all. They had his diagnosis mixed up with another patient and said he was a stimulant abuser, had diabetes, and had COPD. He's NEVER done/had any of these things in his life! The staff is untrained, unprofessional and just plain lazy. The property isn't well kept at all. When my FIL was transferred to the hospital for surgery we went to get his things... they lost them. LOST THEM! I'd steer clear of this place for your loved ones. Just an absolute train wreck of a place.
My husband was placed at Heritage Rehab in Tacoma...it is in a bad part of town and you are not allowed to visit. The only thing you may be able to do is to climb over debris to look into a dirty window. He had a Tiny double room that did not accomodate his electric wheelchair and he could not even move around in and when he pushed the call button it took between 30-60 minutes for someone to check on him. So depressing during this Pandemic....hardly a place to rehabilitate! I would not recommend for your loved ones. Also the admin people are either not in the building or don't return calls promptly. I found the case worker to be rude. I took my husband out of there after 2 nights .
Avamere is truely a wonderful place. We have started renovating the building and making positive changes and they are coming along great! The nurses and staff have been wonderful, and are always willing to go above and beyond for there residents. I personally treat all residents as if they were family, from celebrating birthdays to one on one more personal care. Each resident especially long term care may require more attention or time from staff and all staff take the time and attention needed to accommodate with each resident in order to make them more comfortable. Avamere is an amazing place with staff that truely care♥️
I love avamere. The staff is superb. They've hired so many wonderful nurses and aides that truly care for the residents; from staff coming in to celebrate birthdays, to treating them like their own family. I came from psych and hospital nursing and the environment here really focuses on teamwork to make sure residents get the best care possible. We have started renovating the building, and have so many plans in the next few months to make sure the residents feel welcome. I personally treat my long term residents like I would treat my own family members which is how nursing should be. It's just great to finally find a facility that has the same core values that nursing is all about. You wont be disappointed with the care your loved one receives at avamere heritage. 💕💕
This facility/building may need some updating but the staff that care for my sister are nothing less than exceptional. She is always clean and well attended to. Her room is immaculate and so are all the others. Patients are smiling and engaging whenever I come to visit. All caregivers, and Admin staff are very communicative. OT and PT work very hard. This facility is amazing. And I’ve been in several over the years.
I can only hope I die before I would ever end up in a place like this. It doesn't appear to have any remodels since the 1970's, and just dowright a depressing place to have visit loved ones. Aside from the pungent odor of urine and the other noxious smells that hit you upon entrance, it's easy to see that cleanliness and safety are not among the priorities. My loved one has a call light attached to her bed that has a damaged cord. Rather than having it replaced it was simply wrapped up with electrical tape. The beds look like they came from a prison infirmary and the faded bedspreads look outdated and worn....very institutional. Some of the staff is helpful and kind, some appear to have little patience with anyone. It's very distressing to know that my loved one in a place like this and I hope the family can arrange to transfer her to better conditions. Being in such deplorable conditions isn't conducive to anyone's recovery or rehabilitation. Until she can be moved I will go everyday to be certain she is safe and being cared for properly. This one of the worst nursing homes I've seen.
Today went to see a friend with a family member. He said he had trouble breathing so asked a nurse, Wendy, for help and she was so agitated and when she got to the room family member tried explaining and she just said I'm coming, I'm coming. Very unprofessional and honestly scared he's not getting treated well. Looking for somewhere else!
