I believe that they bare some responsibility for my father's death. The day he passed away, I arrived to find him alone and struggling to breathe. It was clear no one had been to check on him for hours. This was when they were not letting family in to visit. That day they made an exception. His mouth was so dry, there were chunks of saliva hardened inside. He was also hot to the touch! I had to find a nurse and point out his condition! My father clearly had an infection! I have no idea how long he had been this way. It was too late to help him. He died a couple of hours later. Not one person said a word to me or my family regarding our loss upon his death or as we were leaving the facility. We received no call or communication after his death. My experience with the social worker prior to this day had been far from caring. She was cold and without feelings...but I was even shocked at the complete lack of compassion and disregard for human life that Hearthstone showed my father. I think about it every day and wish he had never gone there. I wish that I had taken him out days earlier and just brought him home. Do not send your loved ones there. They do not care about them.
This place is the absolute best. First of all it looks like a very nice hotel when you walk in to all of the public rooms and the patient rooms are amazing, very roomy everything is very high-quality. The food is outstanding. The care is just beyond belief. My mother was there for 18 months until she died and I couldn't be happier.
Baffles me that there is a 1 star rating on here. If you look on Google it's primarily all good reviews and my personal experience was wonderful! My grandmother went here after a hip issue and they were wonderful for her and to her! Staff was nice and attentive. So much so that when my same grandmother had a severe stroke we went back to them and they were just as great the second time! I've had better experiences here than in any other facility in Bloomington!
Our family had a family member placed in this facility for care after some hip issues. Their care has been less than what is acceptable. 1. The alzheimers unit lost dentures. They said they would replace them... but the point is why would you lose or misplace them in the first place?2. While visiting the bed looked as if it was falling apart. The mattress part. As if it was falling off the bed, uncomfortable looking for anyone that would need to use it.
My mother went to Hearthstone for therapy after a week in the hospital. She lives at Bell Trace in an AL apartment which we are getting her ready to go back to. From personal experience watching my mom work with the OT and PT here at Hearthstone, they are excellent! Also, need to do a shout out to some of her favorite nurses too! Justine, Tif and Reagan! Thanks for all you do, HEARTHSTONE!
I am so impressed with Hearthstone. EVERY staff member is so wonderful in every way. I know that they aren't just doing their job, they care about the patient's. I've had experience with other nursing homes and it really makes a difference the care that they give. So I am giving them a full Ten stars on my mother's care at Hearthstone.
The memory care facility needs to go over all rules when a family tours and considers this facility. I suggest asking a lot of questions.IE: Resident needs for toilet assistance/frequent undergarment changes, assist with bathing & feeding, change of clothes, etc. They are many areas in this facility where family members are not allowed to sit and visit with residents. The staff is not warm or "family friendly" but the CNA's are.
My Grandfather has been in this location less than a month and the care he receives is horrible! Today was day 5 in the same clothes and NO BATH OR HAND OR FACE WASHING since last Friday (2/28/2020). Recommendations on this Nursing Home we’re mislead based on reviews so I am willing to help to help correct this. My Grandfather definitely deserves better care than he is receiving. He will be moved before his insurance pays another dime.
This staff sincerely cares about the residents and the state of the art “legacy” provides excellent care for those with dementia. The staff keeps the legacy calm yet residents Are engaged and even entertained! Behavioral expression’s have not been observed during my visits. I would put my mother there in a heartbeat.
Absolutely the best care facility! I have had numerous experiences at other area facilities that I would rate from 1-3, but this place is as near perfect as anyone could find. Staff is efficient, as well as proficient. They all work harmoniously as a complete team. The facility's executive director can occasionally be seen serving meals. If you need care, it's the place to be!
Great Senior Living Center. The best in Bloomington, Indiana. Been working with these guys through the company I work for (Comfort Keepers). Two of my clients have either had a spouse or are admitted there themselves. Never have I had a problem with this company. Definitely do I recommend working with this company!
