    Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, built in 1968, is a Skilled Nursing Facility nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Douglas County, Missouri. We are a beautiful 120 bed facility that sits atop a hill overlooking the city of Ava. We provide both long-term and short-term stays. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, and most insurances. We are proud to provide 5 star, 24-hour skilled nursing care to our residents. Our staff is truly committed to providing high quality patient-centered care in a home-like setting. We have an exceptional dietary department which is proud to provide our residents with a wide variety of menu options served fresh off the grill through Rooster Café.
    Our facility is an active participant in the Ava community. We are members of the Chamber of Commerce and support our local schools and businesses. We are blessed to have the support of our community with several different churches and individuals volunteering their time to serve our residents through music, preaching, and various activities.
    Heart of the Ozarks is well known for hosting the largest annual community event, our Fourth of July celebration. This event brings more than 4,000 people from local and surrounding communities every year. We take pride in hosting events throughout the year to bring our residents and families together for all holidays and special occasions. We have a wonderful activity department that provides our residents with daily activities, as well as regular outings to Branson and various places in the community.
