Following a recommendation by a staff member at another facility, I regrettably sent my mother here to continue with her rehab. Although there are some staff members that are genuinely kind and caring, others are rude and unempathetic, especially at the top tier! Some of the LNA’s could use more training (my mother fell WHILE a staff member was supposed to be helping her when I was there!). I’ve found dirty wipes on her floor and dresser. The food is low-quality, unhealthy and almost to the point of being inedible. At times, my mother had to wait 20 minutes to be assisted to the bathroom or for a blanket, which is completely unacceptable. If this one-star rating looks out of whack with some of the others, it’s probably because of their monthly raffle trying to entice families to write good reviews or the fact that actual STAFF MEMBERS have written reviews, giving themselves 5 stars. Thankfully my mother has transferred to a much better facility where we both immediately saw a difference.
Our experience was a challenge. You should visit this facility first, before committing to go there to see it first hand. I didn't have the comfort level I wanted for my mother's care and this added to the stress of the situation. It was not a good experience. While there were a few employees who were pleasant, reliable, and professional, it doesn't make up for the experience as a whole.
My husband has been at Harris Hill for over 2 years now. He has been very well taken care of. They are always in contact with me about my husbands care and needs. They are always available to answer questions. We were apprehensive to put him into a nursing home but I'm happy to say they have alleviated my fears.
I am very satisfied with the amazing level of care our Mom receives at Harris Hill. We are updated regularly by the staff and contacted by them even for the smallest questions or concerns. They get to know each resident and create lots of activities to provide recreation, physical movement and fun. We are comfortable knowing that Mom is receiving the best of care and in very capable hands. Our family pops in often to visit and we see first hand the compassionate care and interaction the entire staff provides 24-7. Thank you!
Complacent employees(Current Employee), Concord, NH – Sep 09 2021I take my role at center very seriously. I treat the residents with dignity and respect. I believe in giving everything I’ve got at work. Without the residents I would be unemployed. I love my career. I don’t love the amount of uncaring workers that the center has. I’ve addressed my concerns many times to supervisors and get told it’s just the way it is. I would not allow my loved one to be taking care of here. There are a handful of really great employees at center but the bad seem to outweigh the good. Genesis is a company that only sees $$$. The food and care being offered to residents who are paying thousands a month should be a crime. The foods only nutrition is to make you feel “ full” no real nutritional value. The snacks offered are nothing more than cheap little Debbie snack cakes and generic cheese curls. More often than not the center runs out of ginger ale and other staples the residents count on. Most employees stay because of the residents. When does making money from the vulnerable more important than human decency?
My dad has been at Harris Hill for almost three years. The whole time he has been there the staff has taken exceptionally great care of him. They have all gotten to know him and who he is, he is so much more than just a nursing home resident to them. They do a great job at keeping the facility clean as well as the residences, we have never had an issue with my dad not being changed or smelling urine throughout the whole facility like some other nursing homes. You most definitely don't get that at Harris Hill. Thank you Harris Hill for taking great care of my dad!
Harris Hill Center was a saving grace for my family when both my 89 year Mom and Dad each fell at home (with injury) in January and February of 2020. It's a long, sad story, but our family has an unfortunate complicated situation/ dynamic and it was a dangerous situation for Mom and Dad to return home. There were facilities (I won't name them here) who would not accept them from the hospital due to our family issues. The Harris Hill Center Admissions dept, Social Workers and Administrator were so supportive, empathetic and caring through our complicated process to make sure Mom and Dad were safe and cared for as well as supportive to family (yes, there were many, many conversations and tears). And, then the Covid pandemic hit. The team at Harris Hill Center rose to the challenge. The staff protected our loved ones as if they were their own family. We had DAILY family zoom calls with the Administrator and Director of Nursing. I ALWAYS received a return call from anyone I reached out to. And, the biggest measure of all are my Dad's comments: "The people are so nice. The food is delicious. And, the place is so clean." It's important to note that these positive comments are from a man who was angry to be living in long term care, so these are HUGE compliments. I always felt secure that Mom and Dad were in good hands. With restrictions lifting, Mom and Dad have recently moved to a different care facility to be closer to family. Dad still telephones Harris Hill Center and the staff welcomes his call and talk with him. He asks to return there to live. I would not hesitate to have a loved one in this facility and I cannot thank them enough for all they did for our family. xo
Completely disfunctional. Communication is terrible and they do not prioritize the residents.Edit: After readinf the other reviews on Harris Hill I noticed that a lot of these positive comments are coming from the staff of the facility, I find that rather odd and definitely is a red flag.
