A "nursing home" with a nurse on duty only part of the time. There are few activities and they only let residents go outside occasionally for short periods but they'll take photos and immediately post them on Facebook to give the impression these events are frequent and routine. The food is low quality and quite unhealthy.
Tldr; don't admit your parents into this place unless you're sure they're okay with seeing their grandkids through glass. We moved my father into this place today. My sister picked him up from the airport from Florida and drove him to this facility, and I drove my five month old son down from Northern Virginia to meet his grandfather for the first time ever. Luckily we got 5 minutes in the parking lot for him to hold and kiss his grandson for the very first time before someone in the faculty rushed outside and whisked him in, scolding me for having a baby there and telling me my infant son absolutely cannot come inside. We weren't told anything about a no children policy before we moved our father into this facility. No one under the age of 18 is allowed inside this building. The psychosis has reached a new level when people are deathly afraid of babies. We can only hope that the incoming administration in Virginia rolls back some of these absurd policies and reverts back to some common sense. As a parent myself, there isn't a face melting virus in the universe that will ever stop me from holding and loving my children or grandchildren. We are currently researching alternate accommodations for our father that are more friendly to family relationships.
We moved my parents from another facility that was not very good (Harmony) and from day one, the staff at Greenfield provided superior care and attention to them both. Both my parents loved the facility, food and staff. My mother recently passed away and the love and attention my father received from them was a blessing for him and our family. Off duty staff members came in to work to say goodbye to my mother and sit with my father, it truly was amazing. Janel is a standout there because she bonded with my mother and father and feels like family. I have no reservations with my dad continuing to live there because of the love he is surrounded by from family and his Greenfield family... thank you very much to Christina (director) and the entire staff! I only wish we would have found Greenfield's back in January when we were first looking for a place to care for my parents..
This is a great place for anyone who is looking for a safe and clean environment that feels more like a home than an assisted living facility. To the person who left a 1 star review after a five minute tour, I would say that's pretty unfair. My aunt has been here for well over a year and I have nothing but good things to say. Sometimes the people providing the care and service are more important than the color of the chairs...
The six months my mom has been at Greenfield Senior Living Of Spotsylvania has been an amazing experience for her. The staff have been kind and attentive and have treated her with dignity, kindness, and respect. She can be hard to please and yet she has not has one negative thing to say about the community. In fact she loves it there so much she does not want to return home. Thank you so much to all staff at Greenfield!

I have been caring for the elderly for almost 4 years now. This is the first place I have worked where I can honestly say the residents are well taken care of and loved. The staff is awesome & we go out our way to make sure the residents feel at home and loved. I can safely say I have found a home in a job. I actually wake up in the morning and be happy to go to work If you need a place to put your loved one, Greenfield is the place to put them. We will make their final memories memorable ❤️
