This place is amazing, they literally gave me my father back after a devastating fall. The nurses, rehab specialists and the CNAs were more than I ever could have hoped. I never felt insecure about leaving him, I knew he was in good hands. On a side note, their communication with family is fantastic!! I wish I could give them 10 stars. Literally, the best!
I was in Carriage Hill Health Rehab for six weeks for a total knee replacement. During that time I saw and experienced how dedicated and caring the staff and the therapist were. They are truly determined to give the patients in their care the best care and training possible. But of coarse their focus is on the best recovery that the patient is willing to work with them to get. They are patient, caring, dedicated and focused to giving the best care to get the patient to get to the goal for release to either home or living facility. This is my second visit there and I was not disappointed in the quality of care. I totally enjoyed my stay even with the recovery pain. I would totally recommend choosing this rehabilitation facility and I would chose it again if I need to.
Mary Washington Hospital Center Case Mgmt (MWHC) recommended Carriage Hill for my Mom after a week's hospital stay during the COVID outbreak. This place is out for profit only. It is not worth $200 a day. It is not worth it even under Medicare. MWHC should stop recommending this rehab center. I do not recommend this place for your loved one. Please do your research or try rehabilitation at home if possible by family and/or certified nurses and therapists.
The nurses honestly do not help and ignore their patients call buttons. My grandmother was in here and we pulled her out hours later. She called us crying that no one was answering her and she needed to take her medicine. Shame on the employees here. Please, please do not bring your loved ones here. They will sadly be neglected.
I started working in housekeeping at carriage hill 5 years ago. Within that time, I decided to leave housekeeping and go into the activity department. Carriage hill took me as a seed, that needed growing. They have invested so much time and education in me that no other job has. I no longer just have a job but I can proudly say I have a career. With me being from another state, I dont get to see my family. So I have adopted the staff and residents as my family. And carriage hill resident/staff has met my family too. At the end of the day, I cant picture myself anywhere else but at the "hill".
My mother has been permanently living at Carriage Hill for nine years. The nurses and staff are very friendly, and tentative. They always call me when there are changes in her medicines, and sometimes when my mom is in a bad mood so I can talk to her. The care of the staff has eased my mind since I've moved a few hours away. During COVID I've been able to have video chats with my mom, which has been awesome since I can't visit. I totally recommend this facility for long term care.
My mother has been a permanent resident of Carriage Hill since last January after she finished her rehab in December. The care she has received has been top notch and I can’t tell enough people how great Carriage Hill is. I wish to thank all as they have been a God send for the work they do and especially during this time of uncertainty of Covid. I can’t thank all enough for the care they have given to my mom. A big thank you to the social worker office of Trish and Danielle and the activities office of Joanne and Ashley. The care you have given to mom and doing the things I can’t get in to do have given me such peace. I will forever sing the praises of Carriage Hill.Thank you one and all.
Thanks to everyone taking care of my Mom at Carriage Hill. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and caring and has made the transition for our Mom easier. They are excellent at making her comfortable and helping her adjust. The staff has kept us updated on her progress and is very responsive to any and all questions. The Director of Social Services, Trish Stenger, is awesome! Also, special thanks to the Scheduling Director, Chandra Monroe, who does an amazing job! I would not hesitate to recommend Carriage Hill to anyone needing this type of care. 💕
Our Mom was at Carriage Hill for rehab for 7 weeks in the spring of this year after surgery. In June,we brought her home thinking we 3 sisters could take care of her. Despite our good intentions, staying with her 24/7 and our love for her, we realized we were not able to provide the care she needed. During July we started the research of finding her the best placement for her. After extensive research and deliberation, we decided to return her to LTC at Carriage Hill. The transition wasn't easy, as Mom has dementia and didn't understand what was happening. In her mind, she was perfectly able to take care of herself. The staff at Carriage Hill has been excellent at making Mom comfortable and adjusting to her new "home". After her 2 week quarantine, she was moved into a room with a roommate, which she was very much against as she is very private and did NOT want a room mate. This turned out to be the best thing for her. She and her room mate get along wonderfully and have a lot in common. Because of COVID we can only have in person visits with her for 30 minutes every 2 weeks but we do talk to her daily and can video chat with her. Placing Mom into a facility was very emotional for us but the staff has kept us updated on her progress and is very responsive to any and all questions that arise. I would not hesitate to recommend Carriage Hill to anyone needing this type of care.
My mom spent a little over a week here and most of the staff was very friendly and seemed very caring. Her room was clean, and she enjoyed the food. The absolute best part about this experience, though, was how informative, kind, and patient Trish Stenger (the Director of Social Services) was. We would have been completely lost without her! Thank you!
Terrible place to work specifically the kitchen. Allowing the manager to be able to stay after laying hands on a pregnant woman was just sad and wrong. No one should allow the person to get away with only two weeks no pay and then let off the hook. I'm sure if on of the employees laid hands on another employee and wasn't a favorite employee they would have been terminated with no exceptions.
My father just spent the last month in rehab at Carriage Hill. The nurses, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and CNAs were wonderful. We had family visit every day and found a loving, cheerful staff. I admit I was worried about his care when we arrived, but the staff put us at ease! The icing on the cake was the wonderful food. We ate meals with dad and found out why he was happy with the service and food. Dad goes home today because of their attentive help. Thank you Carriage Hill staff!
Call buttons?? They don't call anyone, a light comes on in the ceiling outside patients room, and if you have arthritis its a complete Joke. On numerous occasions I had seen it take 20 to 30 minutes for someone to show up, my mom ended up wetting herself because of this. My mother was sent here by Mary Washington hospital for rehab, I wished to Hell I had taken her out of there. Rooms never cleaned, or half way cleaned, the doctor....saw him once the first week my mom was there. When she needed him most he wasn't there, called or emailed the nurses what he wanted done. Never came in to see her when she started having breathing issues due to copd/heart issues. I Never...Ever would recommend this place to Anyone.
