2.94 out of 5 stars. Based on 64 reviews
Employees of Grand Brook generally have positive things to say about the company. They appreciate the supportive team members, friendly staff, and the Christian atmosphere. They also appreciate the flexible hours and the ability to build strong relationships with the residents. However, some employees have complained about low pay, no room for growth, high staff turnover rate, lack of communication between different departments, and micromanaging. Management has been advised to set more regulations and rules, hire staff that are going to stay on long term, have more consistent expectations, and better follow through with staff. Additionally, they should take a more leading position within the company and teach employees when they do something wrong instead of just letting it go.By clicking "Get Exact Costs", you consent to being contacted either by My Caring Plan or our third-party partners at the phone number and contact information provided, including through the use of an automated dialer system. After 12 months and researching/visiting 14 locations to place my wife who has dementia I chose Grand Brook Memory Care of Wyoming. Their WOW factor was the compassion and caring that was shown to the residents AND families. The facility is new and gives a welcoming vibe. This was the best decision I could have made for my wife.
My sister and I had to move my aunt from the East side of the state, to West Michigan due to my uncle passing away and no longer being able to care for my aunt, who has Alzheimer's. My aunt was not accepting of this move, but she needed to be closer to family. We kind of stumbled upon Grand Brook and set up a tour. Leah was so helpful and encouraging during our experience moving my aunt. She was helpful and a huge support to us knowing how stressful it was moving my aunt with her being so against the move. We immediately loved Leah and the facility. We felt it was a very homey and warm environment and that the staff were well trained to work with people with Alzheimer's. We knew that even though my aunt might not be happy about the move, it was an environment where she would be safe and maybe once she was settled in, happy. We have not been disappointed! My aunt appears to have settled in nicely. She still has moments where she expresses a desire not to be there, but the staff are able to re-direct her and help her to focus on other things. We feel so blessed to have found this wonderful facility for my aunt. It has helped to make a very stressful situation, manageable and we definitely felt supported through it. I would highly recommend Grand Brook to anyone looking for a home for their loved one dealing with Alzheimer's or Dementia.
Grand Brook Memory Care of Grand Rapids is an amazing facility with truly compassionate/caring staff. The staff are engaged with all the residents, and make it their goal to improve the quality of life for not only the residents in the facility, but also their family members. In a very tough patient population that are at various levels of care, they meet each resident where they are at, and continue to work at progressing them to make gains in their plan of care. We switched my Mom to this care facility and it has made a night/day difference in how she has changed over the past few months under their care. I am thankful to their professionalism, time, and the love they have for all of their residents and their families. They truly make it home. Many thanks to all of the staff at Grand Brook!
We were very nervous about another move for our Mom knowing how difficult a move typically is for someone with Dementia, but we decided that the short term concerns were worth the long term benefits and we haven’t questioned our decision once. The staff is so caring and loving and we noticed a HUGE improvement in Mom in a short amount of time. She is so much more content and at peace. They are always looking for ways to improve the quality of their life through this difficult journey. The communication is awesome and the pictures they share help us feel connected in this very difficult time. Thank You Grand Brook for ALL you do – you are truly amazing.
Grandbrook Memory Care is amazing! Finally a place where they actually love my mom just as much as I do, and take such great care of her. They truly do become family. It is never easy putting your loved one in a memory care home, but it won’t take long before you realize this is the best move you made for your loved one! I love seeing all the pictures every single day they send me and all the beautiful happy faces!
I highly recommend Grand Brook! My sister and I knew we had to move our mom from a different community, but didn't know what kind of impact it would have on her. The moment she walked in, the management team and caregivers did such a wonderful job welcoming her to her new home! We have seen such a huge improvement in her since Dec.1st when moved in. What is so amazing is the management team is so hands on and spends quality time with the residents right along with the caregivers! I absolutely LOVE the pics and videos they share on what their day looks like, which is so important in these difficult times. They keep us very informed and up to date. Keep all those smiles coming, it truly warms our hearts, so THANK YOU Grand Brook!!!
We brought my mom to Grand Brook this past November after it became too difficult, and potentially unsafe, to have her at home. I was nervous because we had to move her in right in the middle of a pandemic, and I was not sure how it would work to visit her, or how they would help us still feel connected to her when we could not see her easily. Grand Brook's staff made us instantly feel at home by offering to Facetime so we could tour the facilities, and being extremely transparent with any and all questions and concerns. The staff sends pictures almost every day, which keeps us in the loop regarding what her days look like, even when we cannot physically be in the building. The activities they do, and the fun they have, fills my heart and makes me so incredibly happy that my mom is a part of such an amazing facility and a top notch group of care providers. We are so thankful for Grand Brook!
I cannot say enough about Grand Brook Memory Care of Grand Rapids! Moving our Mother from her previous facility to Grand Brook was a very difficult decision for us, but we are so happy that we did! The staff at Grand Brook is second to none, they are the most kind, loving accommodating group of people I have ever met, they listen to our every need and they truly love their job! It does my heart so good to know that she is loved and taken care of just like we as her family would. The facility is absolutely beautiful as well, clean, bright, cheery and cozy!! There is no place I would rather have her be, she is in such good hands at Grand Brook! We are so thankful everyday with our decision to move her there, and for the wonderful people that are taking care of our beautiful mother! Thank you Grand Brook, you are truly angels on earth!! ❤️
