Overview of Professionals and Training
At Georgetowne Place, we have a competent team of professionals dedicated to meeting the needs of our residents. Our team of individuals takes pleasure in their work and ensures that residents receive the best possible care. Our Executive Director, Mellissa Carpenter, has extensive experience in the ED role and prioritizes the residents' needs while ensuring their satisfaction with our services and the building. Our administrative team is well-trained to handle any situation that arises. We provide additional training for our staff who work with Dementia residents and their families. We are encouraged to take training courses on our time through Relias Training. Relias training is focused on Safety, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Fire, Blood Bourne Pathogens, etc.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We provide our residents with emergency lifeline pendants, which they can wear if they feel unsafe. Although our residents cannot be monitored around the clock, Lifeline pendants are an option for residents in case of emergencies. To ensure the safety of our residents, we have installed video surveillance throughout the building with several cameras at various points. In case of any concerns or issues raised by residents or their families, Mellissa will initiate an investigation to address the matter. We conduct routine fire drills for both our staff and residents. Additionally, every morning by 10 am, we generate a check-in report, and if any resident does not check-in, a wellness check is performed. This process is carried out seven days a week for the well-being of our residents.
Transition Support Services
All of our residents have different needs. We address their needs accordingly. We offer a care connect program allowing our team members to better know and understand each resident's unique needs and expectations. We try our best to make the move-in process smooth and hassle-free.
Transportation Services
We offer a courtesy shuttle service M-F from 8-2.
Dining Experience
Our dining style is like that of a restaurant. We are open from 7-6 every day. Residents and come and go as they please. Our Dietician and the Dining Services Director collaborate to create a weekly menu featuring specials for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition to the specials, we also offer an a la carte menu. If none of the specials appeal to you, you can always choose from the a la carte menu. Breakfast is served all day.
Resident Complaint Process
All complaints should be directed to the individual department head. However, if you feel that your complaint is not being handled properly, Mellissa will assist you.
Cost of Living
Our independent living (IL) costs $2900. A one-bedroom apartment costs $3575 and a two-bedroom costs $4150.
Communication with Residents' Families
Our communication with residents starts at five designated areas where we hang notices. These notices may include information about fire drills, events, donations, and more. To ensure maximum visibility, we display the notices in our two main elevators, near the dining room, and activity area, and on the communication, board located on the first floor. Recently, we have also added cubicles on the third floor specifically designed for resident notices. Our Executive Director sends a weekly chat to residents and families, including Mellissa's monthly update on community news, new hires, nursing notices, and more.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We are unable to accommodate respite stays as we are close to full capacity.
Pet-Friendly Community
We are a pet-friendly community.

Review Summary
The following is an AI generated summary of the reviews of the community from across the web.
Georgetowne Place receives high praise for its amazing team, wonderful staff, and the variety of activities it offers, including an in-ground pool and specialized care for residents living with dementia through Magnolia Trails. Residents enjoy excellent meals in the dining room, which is open from 7:00 am to 6 pm daily, with breakfast available all day.
However, there are some concerns regarding the facility's policies on accepting residents with certain health conditions into their memory care unit, as well as issues with the outdated phone, TV, and internet systems. Despite these concerns, many find the apartments spacious, the building clean and well-maintained, and the food great.
The facility is described as beautiful, with a welcoming staff, spacious apartments, and a great courtyard for outdoor enjoyment. The restaurant is noted for its amazing meals and service. Residents appreciate the wide open green spaces, the front porch for relaxation, and the ongoing updates to keep the place looking cared for.
Some residents have expressed dissatisfaction with the exclusive service by Frontier for telephone and internet, citing poor experience. On the other hand, the community is lauded for its caring and attentive staff, beautiful building, and wonderful food. It's highlighted as a great place to live, work, and for family members to visit, offering many activities, including crafts and movies, and allowing pets.
Georgetowne Place is commended for its ample activities, shuttle service for residents who can't drive, and its balance of being large enough for residents to make new friends but small enough to ensure individual attention. The staff's friendliness, the facility's cleanliness, and the reasonable price are also appreciated.
Overall, Georgetowne Place is highly recommended for its sense of community, safety, sociability, round-the-clock nursing care, and emergency pull cords in each apartment. The maintenance department is prompt in addressing concerns, and the building is kept meticulously clean. The dining experience is praised, with staff learning each resident's name and providing delicious meals. The variety of social activities and daily exercise classes, along with amenities like a swimming pool and walking paths, contribute to a highly positive experience for residents and their families.
