Please ignore my previous review! The panoramic photo of a bridgeacross the Columbia River and background hills to the North has been removed from this community's website. They did the right thing, not wishing to mislead anyone who might expect to see surroundings, more visible in years past, that are not a factor today. The great scenery is still there, you just have to get outside to look at it.
My Mother, Barbara Willie lived at Flagstone Retirement in The Dalles for many years. She was happy there. They took good care of her. If you are looking for a retirement home, or assisted living near The Dalles, for you or your loved one, I highly recommend you considery Flagstone Retirement.
Underpaid staff and staff are expected to go above and beyond for minimum wage with a whopping 3% raise a year if you remind them my experience they also short staffed us alot and "were looking" for other staff pretty much for the 3 years I was there this is not the only flagstone to have these issues and it's sad these elders have to go through this pyramid scheme
Worst facillity ever!!! My mother Doris Anderson died at Flagstone February 21st 2020 and they never notified our family. My sister called today when she recognized a phone number from the Dalles. The woman who answered said she was a messenger told my sister our mother died 7 days ago and when my sister asked her why family was not told our mother was dying so we could say goodbye to her, the woman who would not say her name hung up on my sister.Who does that?I was added on the contact list as the oldest daughter by my sister my mothers power of attorney when our mother was placed in Flagstone in 2016. In all this time no one has ever returned a phone call to me. I have been told I was not on the contact list and not allowed to be told anything about my mother! What happened to the original intake form with the family members who were allowed all information at her admittance???Flagstone and the VA home kept our parent apart and never one time took them to visit each other when they were less than 1 mile apart in 4 years. They decided it would be better for our parents who were married over 55 years to forget each other. Our families rights have been violated. I am so angry about the injustice!!!To make matters even worse they disposed of her belongings and the family picture collage my sister made for our mother instead of the courtesy of returning her things to her family. Theses are precious family memories to us, trash to this administration.
