The Amherst Nursing Home (now CECAA) first opened in 1967 as an 81 bed nursing home. It first expanded by 41 beds in 1993 adding another 12 beds in 1997 to create the 134 bed nursing home that we enjoy today.
CECA has a 53 Dementia Special Care Unit to meet the unique needs of this population. In addition we have a 43 bed traditional long term care unit and a 38 bed unit whose focus is on rehabilitation and shorter term recuperation.
