Overview of Professional Staff and Training
On staff we have LPN, CNA, RA, and Med Tech levels as far as our direct care staff is concerned. All of our staff go through 26 hours of state required computer training and go through a level 2 background check. We also have ongoing training such as CPR and dementia training. We have several physicians and groups who come in to see our residents, including 3 primary care physician groups, a podiatrist, dermatologist, and a hearing aid specialist.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We have 2 emergency call lights in each room, one in the bathroom and one bedside, which residents pull when they need help. Our staff carry beepers to respond promptly. We perform checks at each meal, medication time, and as needed for each individual. We conduct fire drills, maintain an emergency generator, store food and water for emergencies, and lock doors after reception hours for safety.
Transition Support Services
We assist new residents in settling in, offering guidance to their rooms with visual aids like flowers and butterflies if needed. Home health companies provide OT and PT to help residents adjust to the new environment.
Transportation Services
We provide free rides to doctor appointments within a 10-mile radius and organize group outings for shopping, fun activities, and lunches using our bus and car.
Dining Experience
Our restaurant-style dining offers a main menu and an alternate menu, with servers attending to residents' needs. Meal times are staggered by floor for convenience, with flexibility as required.
Addressing Resident Complaints
We have an open door policy for complaints, monthly Town Hall meetings for airing issues, and one-on-one meetings with residents and families. Contact information for the ombudsman and corporate offices is provided, along with a suggestion box.
