My husband was a patient here after spending 7 weeks in the hospital after having been in a near fatal car accident.  First off, there are no side rails on the beds! My husband has no use of his left hand and could not adjust himself in the bed being nothing for him to grab onto. He fell out of the bed and they still refused to put anything up to keep him from falling out of the bed. They claim this is considered a restraint, I consider it negligence! Staff was not on top of Doctors orders so by the end of his allotted time per Medicare guidelines and his secondary insurance, he still had not been given the OK to even stand up! Luckily, he was able to get transferred to another facility that was covered under Medicare and they had him walking within 2 weeks.  When he arrived at the new facility he was missing his kindle to read his books and when I called and asked them about it they claimed that it had been packed in his bag, well it didn't arrive with him. I would not recommend this facility to anyone who wants the best care for their loved ones.

If you or your love one is not verbal or coherent, this is not the place for you.  The staff can be rude and respectful.  There is no team work here!!!  I have observed on numerous times when a resident would ask to go to the restroom and will be told to hold/wait to say "I am not your tech you have to wait".  Residents can be sleepy (with their heads falling to their lap) and ask to go to their bedroom.  They will let them sit until they are ready to take them to their rooms.  All the while they are just walking around or sitting in the bistro talking to each other. The totally ignore when the lights are on above the doors from the call bells and ignore when someone calling for help.I have been there a few times when a resident was constantly asking the staff to take care of some of the residents sitting at a table with her.  She was a very outspoken lady and she would let them have it.  I liked her (she had purple hair, too cool)!!!  I even asked her to look out for my mother when I left.  She said, "I sure will" and would let me know if there is anything I needed to know when I came back.  Upon my return, she told me "everything went good, I handled it".I spoke with the Director of Nursing about issues I was having with my loved one and things improved until she was released.  Unfortunately, she had to return after a discharge from hospital.  Yes, they were back to the same thing.  I had one of the nurses get rude with my mother and when I discussed it with her, she said she would apologize to my mom but that never happen.  As I informed her to address my mother as she would have someone address her mother if she was there as a resident.  But, I never had any more issues with that particular nurse.  I guess you have to call them out individually for things to improve for your family members which should not be the case."THEY NEED PATIENT CARE CUSTOMER SERVICE REFRESHER".  If they all treated the residents as if they would want their family members treated, I think this would be a great facility.

My husband, Paul, has advanced stage Parkinson's Disease. He spent a little over three weeks in the Cadia Healthcare Broadmeadow facility in Middletown, DE in September. We had outstanding care from the Director Frank Reimbold, the Director of Nursing, Kindo Kamard, the gal we worked with to admit him, Mariah, nurse Chelsea Quinn, his lead nurse, Eric McIntyre, his CNA, Shawn Frazier, his therapists, Josie Calirmlia, Tracey Hunt, Colleen McDowell and Katrina Rivada. Other staff members who were very helpful included Pam Akoto, Nicole Connor, Janelle Singletary, Ashley Wagner, Beatrice, Chrissy and Diane who took such good care of his room and always had a smile. This staff was professional, patient and compassionate. I had complete confidence in them. I would highly recommend them to others. Thanks to all.Sincerely,Dr. D'Ette D'Ette

This was a terrible place. The staff is horrible. I can think of two people there that were nice the rest looked at you like you were dirt. They did not take care of my mother properly. One of them was verbally abusive to my mother and Yelling at her get her legs off the bed do it kmow she said. My mother had just had surgery and she could have cared lessMy mother's roommate told me the one girl would come in and shut the door and sit there and watch movies on her phone. They didn't bathe her while she was there. I got my mother out of there as quick as I could and put her in a five-star facility. They are out there do your research. Please do not take any of your loved ones to this facility. When I got my mother to her new place she was a different person in an hour

This place was horrendous. the staff was not concerned with my family member laying in feces For 2 hours she kept saying she didn’t feel good 4 days later they finally realized something was wrong she had to be admitted back to the hospitalI guess it’s fair to say that a lot of nursing homes/rehab facility the employees are over worked but then again when Its your family or your loved one that shouldn’t be a reason to neglect your patients. If you can’t take care of your patients then stop admitting them to your facility.

Oh my goodness where do I start?!? Part of why our experience was so bad was due to my own expectations and maybe I was expecting too much based on how much care my loved one needed. If my loved one could talk for them self and get around for them myself I might not be writing this review. Since they couldn’t my family and I were hoping our loved one would do well in the short term rehab and be able to get back to or as close to the normal we were used to. They don’t have enough doctors on staff b/c when I brought something to their attention it took 3.5 days before a doctor saw my loved one... (now mind you, this was brought to their attention on a Friday so I’m sure the weekend had something to do with it). The next weekend my loved one fell and was showing signs of concussion later in the night. I called to get a well check on them the next morning and ended up insisting he see a doctor that day... since none were available during the weekend they sent them to the ER. On arriving to the ER we found out they told the EMTs that my loved one had dementia and was an alcoholic.... NEITHER are true! During their stay when I would call in the morning to check on them they were constantly confusing them with a different patient. It makes me wonder how much confusion they had while dealing with my loved one.Update: Thankfully they went to the ER. Thankful there was no concussion but they did address the issue we were having previously that took so long for him to see a doctor... it turned out to be an infection in their bloodstream from their previous surgery that was causing their confusion, and inability to walk (The infection had started in the knee). After 2 more try’s at different facilities we opted for them to come home and do in home and later outside therapy. My loved one has been home for almost 6 months and while this option did have its struggles, they are talking and walking like their old self again.

The best Cadia in New Castle. Everyone is helpful, pleasant and available when needed unlike the one in Pike Creek and on Silverside Rd. These guys in Middletown first off, don't disappear from their area for long lengths of time, they understand English and can speak it so you can understand it.

I had an infection in my replacement knee, which had to to be taken apart and I stayed in the hospital in bed for two weeks, not walking, I went to Broad Meadow and they got up into a wheelchair and getting to the bathroom with help, and help getting cleaned up, I had PT and OT six days a week, they got me back to using a walker, getting into/out of a car, into a bathtub, so I could function at home, I had a strong antibiotic daily via a PIC line daily for about an hour, I even got a nice haircut there, because I could only bath using a water bowl and wash cloth, no shower allowed with the PIC port in my arm. The food was good for an institution, I had a side salad with dinner most every day, and the employees were nice, I chatted with quite a few of them if they weren't too busy. I hope that I never need rehab again, but if I do this is my choice of places to go, I was there 3 weeks.
