We are so thankful that my mother was able to spend the last months of her life at Brookstone. The administration and staff could not have been nicer or more supportive. She received excellent care. Everyone did their best to meet her increasing needs while treating her with respect and kindness. I only wish that she had been able to live there a long time and enjoy the many activities and the prevalent family atmosphere. Even the registered nurse from Hospice was complimentary of Brookstone's outstanding care. After mother passed away, everyone at Brookstone was so empathetic and kind to us. We will always believe that moving my mother to Brookstone was the best thing we could have done for her at this time. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to the employees at Brookstone.
UPDATE, 9/25/2020:We/Brookstone has now gone through 7 months of the COVID19. It initially had limited cases of the Coronavirus - all in Memory Support, where it is extremely difficult to "contain" residents, but none in Assisted Living. Brookstone immediately got on top of the situation & has not had a case in 3 months, for which I am grateful. The employees continue to be its star point; I'd especially like to give a shout-out to Bernice, who is a Personal Care Assistant/CNA there. She has seen to my mother as if she were her own mother, & I appreciate her diligence, devotion & dedication. The food has continued to be delicious, flavorful & enticing to senior people. Although the activities have had to be scaled-back, Brookstone has successfully opened-up small groups of physically-distanced activities to the residents. If your loved one is a kind-of introverted person, as my mother is, the employees there will check in to sit with that resident; something I'm thankful for. In the tough times of the pandemic, I still recommend Brookstone whole heartedly!I cannot speak highly enough of Brookstone Assisted Living! My 91 year-old mother has been at Brookstone for the past 5 months, & we have found it to be a truly stellar, excellent place for our senior loved one. They have more-than-fulfilled all of our needs & expectations, and more. What makes this Assisted Living facility the excellent place that it is are the incredible people who work there; you will seriously not find a more exceptional staff anywhere on the planet. The rooms are very nice; comfortable, roomy & each includes a kitchenette & bathroom. My mother was 1st in Assisted Living & has recently moved to the Memory Care area; both have a lot of advantages. The food here is amazing; not only have they been able to put some much-needed weight on my tiny mother, but I & several of our family members have greatly enjoyed dining here. They are more-than-accommodating to the more "finicky" tastes of the senior population, while attending to their special nutritional needs. Dining is just an extremely pleasurable experience here - breakfast, lunch (called "dinner") & dinner (called "supper")! Both Assisted Living & Memory Care have a full complement of activities going on every single day, no matter if you are a highly-ambulatory senior who enjoys exercising & walking, or are a more sedentary person who enjoys seated activities. The 24/7 nursing & CNA staff here are all dedicated, compassionate people who have specialized understanding of older adults. The staffing here is designed to cover all needs, including transportation. Brookstone just keeps impressing me with their devotion & allegiance to all of their residents! A huge thumbs-up to this "home away from home" for your loved one!
I work part time at Brookstone and i can’t begin to say how fortunate i am to be a part of team Brookstone. Chevon Edwards bring smile to families and residents face every time she walks in the building (awesome person to work with)and if what you seek is a safe and friendly atmosphere either to work or live then Brookstone is the place you want to be! All in all i love it here, love the team! #teambrookstone
Even though Covid has brought trying times to all of us, Brookstone has been a safe haven for our loved ones. My dad has been there several years now and it is home to him. Michelle, with her smile and cheery attitude, makes sure each resident feels connected and engaged. Shavonne makes sure my dad can watch his church service on his I-Pad and Vernon---well, Vernon just does it all!
Most of the management team have been with BROOKSTONE for several years, but I would like to say welcome to Samantha Green who has been a wonderful new addition to our BROOKSTONE family. Samantha brings with her several years of community service and experience. Samantha works tirelessly right from your first encounter with her to ensure that our residents and families feel they have chosen the best place to live.
As an employee of Brookstone I can say with confidence that Brookstone is not only a Great place to live but also a Wonderful place to work. It feels like home away from home for employees as well as residents. It is such a blessing to work for an organization that serves our seniors with such love and compassion. I have been privileged to work alongside Elyssa Cameron (Memory Support Director). Elyssa truly cares for our residents in Memory Support & is very protective and nurturing as if they were her own family. Elyssa is very in tune to their needs and has the education, experience as well as the natural ability to make sure that their needs are met.
Brookstone assisted living is a wonderful place to work. You can just tell when you walk into the building that it's home. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, the residents are very enjoyable to be around and talk to and there is always activities available. I think my favorite thing is learning about the residents pasts and the stories that they all bring with them and watching them enjoy each others company especially when it comes to cross word puzzles. Another good thing about Brookstone is the food and our kitchen staff. Warren, our dining services director does a fantastic job accommodating to the residents wants and needs in our restaurant style dining kitchen. Warren goes to the residents room and talks to them one on one to find out the residents likes and dislikes, giving the residents a voice in what they want to eat or add to the menu. Thank you so much for all you do for our residents behind the scenes!
I have worked at Brookstone for three years and I can't say enough about the team of caregivers. Especially, I wish to recognize Maintenance Director Vernon Pianalto. Vernon does more before breakfast than most people do all day. His endless energy and perpetually good attitude brighten everyone's day. On a given day you might find Vernon painting an apartment in preparation for a new resident, moving furniture, ordering and taking inventory of supplies, trimming bushes, repairing a balky kitchen appliance, administering a fire drill, performing any of a myriad of state mandated monthly tests and reports, and he might still have time to do a log splitting demonstration for residents. Vernon is literally one in a million, and the Brookstone family is grateful and lucky to have him as a member.
So I recently joined the Brookstone family and I can't say enough how truly blessed I am to of found a place to call my second home. From day one, Doug Boss was welcoming, friendly and he has the greatest personality. The best part of Brookstone are the residents. Even in difficult times the residents still have a smile on their faces, always say good morning or good afternoon, and make the best of every day. I have even got to experience Doug and another resident dancing in the lobby. My heart was filled with so much joy and love.
Brookstone takes pride in maintaining a comforting and welcoming (with safety in mind) atmosphere. That certainly starts at the front door, which is why i would like to brag on Megan Sprenger, Administrative Assistant. If you call or visit Brookstone, Megan is typically the first voice that you hear/first face that you see. Megan has previously worked as a caregiver at Brookstone, and she has a strong connection with many of our resident and employees. She knows how important it is to our residents that we bridge that connection between them and their families - especially during this pandemic. Megan has worked hard to greet visitors with kindness, address their needs, and set up safe, socially distanced visitation with our residents. At this time, families are bringing by gifts and personal belongings that must be left at the front lobby. Megan has done a fantastic job at sanitizing and delivering these items room by room, including all incoming mail. Through these tough times, Megan has really stepped up and took initiative to care for our residents safety, as well as putting as many smiles on their faces as humanly possible. We are so lucky to have her! If you call Brookstone and Megan Sprenger answers, please give her a quick thank you for all that she does for us ALL at Brookstone.
My dad has been living at Brookstone for over a year. He really likes his apartment, being able to socialize with peers and interacting with the amazing staff. The staff members are very friendly and consistently go out of their way to engage with residents and family members. Activities manager, Michelle Agee, regularly plans special themed events to keep up everyone's spirits. Even during quarantine, one can find her delivering root beer floats, mocktails, etc...directly to residents' rooms. Janet Roy is a lso very helpful and provides on-time transportation services for residents when family members aren't able to take their loved ones to appointments. Kim, the lead RN, is extemely attentive and, if needed, will sit with residents to assist them during medical televisits. After the visit, she'll contact the family to provide requested updates. Earlier in the quarantine when residents had to eat in their rooms, the Kitchen manager went out of his way to provide a variety of menu options and to ensure the food was warm when delivered. Our family is very thankful for the Brookstone team.
Brookstone is a beautiful community with a dedicated, compassionate staff. The staff is committed to meeting residents’ needs and exceeding all expectations. The staff takes the time to get to get to know the residents and family members and are able to create a loving familial environment. My fellow staff members are positive, upbeat and always helpful which is a direct reflection of our management. Every staff member is amazing in their own right but Juanita Swington stands out. As a fellow part time employee, she leaves her mark as being one of the sweetest, hardworking, and most caring members every shift she works. I could go on and on about the amazing management, staff, and residents but I think it’s pretty clear that anyone would be lucky to be a member of the Brookstone Family!!!!!!
I would like to thank all of the Brookstone team members for working so hard to provide a safe, healthy, happy environment for my family members and the residents at Brookstone Assisted Living. Brookstone has a team of dedicated, hardworking caregivers and staff who go above and beyond for residents and families. There are wonderful people in every department helping with personal care/health, maintaining rooms, scheduling and transporting, creating special events/activities, and fantastic food! I would not hesitate to recommend Brookstone to anyone.
I work in the health care industry and specifically with seniors. I’ve had friends in many assisted living facilities in NWA. Brookstone is without a doubt the very best! All the staff are genuine in their desire to care for all their residents. The leadership team maintains a hands on approach. They truly lead by example. My brother and I moved our cousin to Brookstone in 2007 and she would not want to live anywhere else. Our Mother is now living at Brookstone. She is always bragging about how good the food is and how nice everyone treats her. If you have a loved one who needs to move into an Assisted Living Community - you can have the peace of mind that they will be taken care of by skilled, compassionate & caring staff.
