This place was a nightmare! Our loved one walked in this place a fiesty full of life patient with Alzheimer's and we buried him 6 weeks later. The Dr that takes care of these patients should not be allowed to practice! I would never put my family member here if I knew what I know now.
Horrible experience. Lots of communication until they get your money and then you are on your own. They sent my parent back and forth to Grandview to “regulate meds” and eventually kicked him out without even calling to discuss options. Aside from locking them down, feeding them food and meds regularly, there is no real Alzheimer’s care in house, save an ancient doc who pops in monthly to write prescriptions. As long as your parent is compliant with no adjustment issues, all is well. But, if they step out of line, Briar Glen will kick them out as fast as they took your money and won’t even call you to tell you about it. If I could give negative stars, I most definitely would.
I entered my loved one there three months ago. I have nothing to say except good things about the staff and the accommodations. They are taking such good care of my loved one. He has friends there and is so happy. I visited with him today and he could not stop talking about his friends, waving to them and trying to communicate. Any bad review you have seen is misdirected since they go out of their way to make your loved one feel at home. He is at home! Thanks Briar Glen for your care and love that you are showing him. Especially I want to thank the attendants that give hugs and especial attention to anyone who needs it. Love to all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Posted on behalf of the family)
i highly do not recommend this place. We had sent my grandmother there And first of all the place stinks they do a terrible job of cleaning. Second they would take my grandmothers jewelry and a lot of her belongings that we kept in her room. That is completely on unacceptable and you should not send any of your love ones there.
First I want to say I luv all residents, but the care their is horrible & mangement I went to them with an issue thinking it would be addressed accordingly but on the other hand I was fired, my point is why get rid of someone that is there taking care of the patients, that's a lack of luv and a money thing if you have people willing to go the extra mile to make sure that the residents are cared for that is who you should keep instead of people fighting on the job. My # 1 concern is the residents. But once again I was discharged from my duties these residents need to be on a skilled unit because only a few can do for themselves, you hve employees that's scared to speak up, because they fear getting fired like I did but God sit high, & Look low and you will not be blessed I've contacted the news so I'm just waiting on and interview on the news , I will get the word out. And this is not just talk I have receipts of everything I'm sayong.Ps. Be careful where you put your luv onesAnyone needing info my email is [email protected] I can share pic of more things, you don't hurt someone that came in and did what your people in years haven't done who says stroke patients can't take a bath. Never heard of it some are there just for a check but I was there because I luv people & you took that away from me. So now it's time for me to spread the word and share pictures y'all be blessed and check on your family members. But what place don't give snacks after dinner its over, why not pass ice I'm sure they are thirsty so you just go until the next day without a snack or water. Unacceptable. I took and oath to tke care of people & if I don't tell my story I'm just as much fault as them❤Be Blessed contact for info but I do hve and attorney working for me. (Fred Davenport) can you report a story for me?
This place deserves zero stars. But I want to spread word out to help others make decisions about where to put their loved one(s). I strongly recommend to not choose this place. We submitted a family member here and, at first the place was cheerful and you can feel the positive energy in the vicinity. Come a while later, the place has so many negative emotions. The nurses and workers changed (not in a good way) due to the change in ownership of the company which progresses to, I’m going to be honest, not giving a sh** about anything. With my understanding it is now privately owned. There are less patients walking around the halls and the occasional chitter chatter you’d hear has completely vanished and the patients were in a way ‘brain dead’ though not in a coma. There are so many more details I can go into but please take my advice into account. Don’t put your loved one(s) in this facility, don’t make the mistake we did.I pray that word will get out about Rittenhouse. This is not a place for ANYONE.
