It's almost a year since my Dad passed. He was living at BrendLyn (Fieldstone and Buttonworth) for years and was happy and well-cared for. His favorite caregiver (among a few) was Mary. They had a great friendship and no one could ask for a more dedicated person. No matter when we visited, he was always clean and well-fed. Homemade treats and favorites were often provided. He was able to enjoy the open indoor and outdoor areas and holidays always came with festivities. I was immediately informed of any change or update in his health. Special thanks to Al and Shirlynn and their courteous and wonderful staff.
Avoid this place! They are only interested in the money. Your loved ones are not cared for in the way you are promised they will be. I witnessed the owner sleeping in the daytime while no help was present for the residents. He was suppose to be watching residents but was sound asleep. Dangerous situation. Poor hygiene and bed sores. I wish I had been warned.
I rarely submit a review for anything, but felt that justified praise for Brendlyn Assisted Living is definitely warranted. Unfortunately, due to my father's health, I had to locate an assisted living facility in Florida for him and would venture to say that this is one of the best assisted living facilities in Palm Coast or surrounding areas. The rooms are spacious, up-to-date, clean and inviting. The facility is gorgeous and feels like a real home. Shirlyn, Al and their staff are more than just caretakers for my father. Everyone goes over-and-above regarding his care and to ensure that his quality of life is excellent. From his meals to his personal needs; from doctor and dental appointments to their kind and compassionate companionship, my father has been so happy since his move there from a nursing home. I am kept abreast of any and all medical updates or changes and I call and speak with him at any time, including Skype and FaceTime, which he enjoys so much! He receives visitors whenever they are available to come and see him. He is also able to enjoy a beautiful outdoor area with a wonderful garden (which his loves to help tend). I could not be happier with our decision to move Dad to such a phenomenal assisted living.
