Kit Hobson, the owner, is infamous for running out of money, and spending every other week racing around Mormon churches or big out and about fun hunting. Definitely should be busted by the county, but when? When? This establishment was and is being continually investigated by the state and rating dropped from an A to a D for gross violations of state laws and regs. Caregivers' CPR certs are expired. No elder abuse or HIPPA training for some current caregivers which is a huge violation. No fire drills have been done in over a year. Residents run out of meds regularly because owners bring in people who don't have doctors and med scripts in place. Owners regularly bounce paychecks. No vacation, no sick leave for employees, no promotions. Owners are moving out of area indigents into the facility from other counties to leech off of Humboldt County taxpayers money. The phone company, NV Energy and the water company are calling threatening to turn off utilities for non payment of bills. And unfortunately, it is allowed to fester like this thanks to lackluster, slapdash state "investigations" that just put bandaids on the problems and/or willfully turn a blind eye to what is going on. Someday, something very tragic will happen here, and not only the owners, but the state's heads will roll because some people are keeping detailed records of what is going on here, and of the state claiming "it's all good" and not pressing charges when in fact there's enough going on here to merit the place being shut down. Put your parents in here at your own risk. I see the owner Kit Hobson's children are all posting 5 stars on the reviews to try to prop up their reputation. It's too late for that. If this were anywhere but Winnemucca, the place would have been shut down a long time ago. They should be shut down now.
I have tried multiple times to call with no answer of course this might be due to staff always being on their cell phones. Residents look unkept; hair not combed, dirty wrinkled clothing. Of curse this may also be due to staff spending their time on their cell phones. Food looks unappetizing and is boxed convince food falsey advertised as home made. Residents spend most of their day sitting and starring at the TV. Before you consider this home I would definitely make an unannounced visit.
